Peaceful Sleep

As the grandfather clock ticks off the minutes you fall into a peaceful sleep while you are watching the news on your TV.

Actually I made some adjustments to the Swam Violin sounds and I would like your opinion on if they sound more realistic.

BiaB Style - Slow New Age w/Waves Ocean Loop
I deleted the ocean loop
Bass - Kontakt - Amadeus basses and the Solid State Orchestra Strings
Piano - Kontakt - Glissando Harp
Guitar - Synthmaster 2 - LD The Discovery
Strings - EastWest Play - Full Choir
Utility track - Keys of the 70s - Stage Mark 73 full - using MIDI from EZKeys 2.

I am playing the Swam Violin via my keyboard controller.

As always all comments are welcomed so let me know what you think about the violin sound, good or bad.

Mario,

This sounds awesome! Yes, love the violin track - it is mesmerizing.

The whole production completely works.

Hi Mario,

Simply gorgeous! I can hear this in a movie or in a documentary about the ocean, birds, etc.

Hypnotic and so settling. You outdid yourself!

And the violin was superb. The perfect amount of vibrato that soothes the ears. That was a wonderful listen!!!

Alan

PS: I often wonder about Soundclick's positioning on the waveform of listeners' comments. I listened to the very end, and it displayed my comment midway through the song. I didn't even begin to type my comment until 20 seconds before the end of the song. That's the second time this evening that has happened to me. Still scratching my head.

Nice! Although I'm not sure I'd go into "peaceful" sleep watching the news. wink

As others said, rhythmically hypnotic. And the pads sound cool in stereo.

The violin is a bit theremin-esque, probably because there's not much room sound associated with it. Lots of rosin on that bow!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Peaceful indeed.

From my very limited perspective but having played in bands with a fiddle (not strings in the plural 🤪) and done a lot of on stage fiddle mixing/track recording I think yours are lovely but perhaps in need of more resonance for lack of a better term. I don’t know if you use Waves CLA Unplugged but I’ve it to offer some nice organic textures for strings. OK I’ve spent enough time embarrassing myself in unfamiliar territory.

The tune is sublime.

Yeow, too exciting to put me to sleep, but it's just the kind of music I listen to when I do. I'm gonna go out on a limb here... and rest.

I'll agree with Bud that maybe the violin could use more "resonance," but that's because I respect his opinion so much. The violin sounds quite dreamy, and the only thing maybe missing is the sound of the bow. See? Don't ask me. I love it.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi there Mario,

i had to think this must be the kind of music I will hear at my final day on earth.
Very peaceful and creative, but also emotional. The ingredients for that final song.
So I loved it very much but also made me a bit sad, b.ecause it is so nice.
You made a wonderful song.
Love it,

Hans
Ps; that sound of the violin... I think it is a synth or something on the keyboard, but the sound is very nice.
You can hear the bow touching the strings. What software is that?

Mario, this is SO COOL. But...isn't using "Slow New Age w/Waves Ocean Loop" and deleting the Ocean Loop like ordering a BLT, hold the bacon??? Ha! Just kidding! It's a great mix of instruments for the genre.

Your S-L-O-W chord changes made me realize what a chord change junky I am. This tune forced me to just relax and wait for it to come while enjoying the other musical activity. Really enjoyed your melodic work with the violin. There's a pad underneath it all that glues everything together nicely, too. Maybe I'll get over my chord change addiction yet. Ha (again)!

Really got into your song and enjoyed it a lot!

David, you are right about peaceful sleep while watching the news. It would be more like a nightmare!

I am a little disappointed in the Swam solo strings. They are nowhere as good as the sax and trumpet ones I have. Or maybe I don't know how to set them up and use them yet.

Bud, you did not embarrass yourself. Thanx for that tip. I have a ton of Waves' stuff but not the CLA Unplugged. I'm gonna have to pick that up. I do have the JJP Strings and Keys but I didn't like the sound modification that they did on this violin.

Thanx Marty. I'll keep trying and just maybe I can get it to sound more realistic. I am a little disappointed in the Swam solo strings as they are no as good as the sax and trumpet sounds I have from them.

Thanx so much Hans. It is the Swam Solo Strings. They are currently on sale, but still quite expensive.

Thanx so much. I like both songs with few chord changes and songs with many chord changes. It is how the song sounds to me that counts grin

Your written intros remind me of suggestion given to an hypnotic state and that's rather appropriate given the tone and movement of this piece.
Definitely a somnambulist's soundtrack.
Very cool.
