OP ve2cjw Enthusiast V Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 51 Quebec, Canada.	Hello. I used to be able to generate mp3 files in Realband in windows XP. Since I have moved to Windows 7, I can't do it. I get a message saying that the driver can't generate the file. I do have a mp3 codec installed and it does work because I can generate a mp3 with another program. I have installed the same codec that I had before. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Michel in Quebec.

rharv Veteran Joined: May 2000 Posts: 21,657 Mi., USA	Which Codec? PGMusic products rely on the codec being registered with the OS, and this may not be the case with some codecs in Win7 Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Noel96 Veteran Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 18,953 Australia	Hi Michel, Can you render to wav format? What I always do is to use a rendered wav file and then convert it to mp3 using BonkEnc Audio Encoder. This little program is freeware and offers a great deal of control over the quality output of the mp3. I particularly like the fact that I can encode with a variable bit rate as this can give me 192 kb/s quality file that is considerably smaller than 192 kb/s fixed bit rate. Regards, Noel MY SONGS... OP ve2cjw Enthusiast V Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 51 Quebec, Canada.	The codec that was working in win xp was the one installed with Cakewalk Pyro Audio Creator. It seems that Realband can't use it in win 7. I can always generate a wav file and convert it in Audio creator, no problem there but I liked doing it directly in Realband. Andrew - PG Music PG Music Staff Joined: May 2002 Posts: 6,975 Victoria, BC	Hello Michel, RealBand uses codecs installed in the Windows Audio Compression Manager. Your computer, for whatever reason, must not have the required codec installed there. We can't include mp3 codecs with the program due to mp3 licensing and copyright issues related to encoding mp3's. Anyways, there are various solutions to the problem as others have mentioned.
