+1 for the original suggestion to be able to set the Tracks view as the opening screen.
I'll take the idea a step further and request that a user be able to select ANY major window, such as Tracks, Chord Sheet or Piano Roll for example, as the default opening screen. Presently two buttons in Preferences, "Display" and "Colors" open the same window, Break out the color choices to a new, separate and unique "Colors" window and there might be enough room in the "Display" window to include a text box with drop down menu to have a user selected opening screen.
Sorry, but I have to vote -1 to this. The first thing you have to do when you open BIAB is to write some chords, and you can't do that from track view, so it wouldn't make much sense if tracks view was default when opening the program. Also, it's very easy to go from the chords window to the track (or any other) window, is just one click away. And finally, the preferences window is already really cluttered, the more options on the screen at once, the more overwhelming it can seem, and the harder it is to find what you're looking for at a glance. IMO, BIAB would need less, not more (and unnecessary) options.
What if you launch BiaB by double-clicking on an existing SGU file? The chords are already there. And this would definitely be optional, so users who did not want it would not have to use it.

For these cases, it would be great if BIAB saved last active window with every song. That would more convenient, IMO, than a new "Open Track View by default" option.

I assumed that this request would be desired only when opening an existing song. As mentioned by AudioTrack, one way to do that is to double-click on a song name. Another is to set your preferences to Open Previous Song on Bootup.
Regardless, put a few icons in your Custom toolbar and you’re never more than one click away from where you want to be.
