Sorry, but I have to vote -1 to this. The first thing you have to do when you open BIAB is to write some chords, and you can't do that from track view, so it wouldn't make much sense if tracks view was default when opening the program. Also, it's very easy to go from the chords window to the track (or any other) window, is just one click away. And finally, the preferences window is already really cluttered, the more options on the screen at once, the more overwhelming it can seem, and the harder it is to find what you're looking for at a glance.
IMO, BIAB would need less, not more (and unnecessary) options.
