The 2024 Band-in-a-Box UltraPAK can be ordered on a hard drive. The hard drive is a small, very small solid state hard drive that is just a little larger than a USB thumb drive or memory stick.

Below is a photo of the solid state hard drive and shipping box I received. The box contains the hard drive, two USB cables that allow connection with both USB 2 and USB 3 computer ports and a welcome to Band-in-a-Box information card.

It's probably a USB to M2 so you could probably take it out and plugin in the main board if you have an M2 socket ?

Musocity. Your likely right regarding the USB to M2 interface. I will be using the drive in multiple computers so I'll leave whatever is inside the case, inside the case. It's plenty fast as it is.

I was just looking at prices of the 2TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives compared to the 2TB NVMe M2 USB 3.0 drives and there's not much difference in price, so I wonder if the Audiophile version will be on this also ?

My understanding is the Audiophile hard drive will continue to be a USB 2/3 compatible portable hard drive while the UltraPAK will be available as standard download only; standard download with optional USB 2/3 compatible portable hard drive or standard download with optional USB 2/3 compatible portable solid state drive.

The solid state drive enclosure is made by Sabrent. The product name is Rocket/nano v2 and it is a model SB-250-NAV2. The drive has a silicone case.

Ok, I just received my audiophile drive. Here are some specs that might be of interest.

It's 4 TB (up from 2 in the last several years) with 1.78 free, according to the partition info.
In real numbers, the capacity is 3.9 TB and 1.9 of that is free space.

It uses the SATA 600 bus, which is the same as the last few years.

Drive rotation speed is 5526 RPM.

Additionally, the drive shows it has been on for 7 hours. Maybe that's how long it takes their machine to copy files to multiple drives.

In prior years my drives were by Samsung. This new one is a Seagate drive.

And it's thicker than prior years, but the same length and width. It's not the tiny drive the non-audiophiles are receiving, but compared to the past of five years ago, it's small enough.

BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
