That's old me responding though as I took a lesson in 1967 as gospel...we buried "got".
rayc, well...I DID consult the Macquarie Dictionary but couldn't find that burial lesson defined for 'Straya. At any rate, far be it from me to argue the merits of grammar when it comes to music.

Just between you and me, I suspect my lyricist sent me these lyrics as a practical joke. (There is precedent. He once sent me a song where the entire lyric was ten words.) He was a little stunned when the I Got Two lyrics came back as a somewhat-credible song. So I count this one as a win for me, questionable grammar and all. Ha!

DC Ron,

This sounds great to me. I agree that your vocalist totally crushed it . . . those harmonies and BGVs are awesome, wonderfully mixed. The song really takes off starting in that second verse . . . real toe-tapper, very catchy! Impressive outing! Two thumbs up from me!

All my best to you,

Deej

It's all there:

- excellent vocal performances

- engaging write, melody and arrangement

- nice group of session players you called in for sure smile

- excellent mix ... those drums "pop" in the good way

Groovy and a fun listen!

Hey Ron ...

Loved this! I grew up in the 50s and 60s - this one took me back to about 1964. And, for me, that's a good thing. Yeah - 1960s with better production!

You have a great singer for the style - he really delivered the goods. Thanks for a super listen!

Alan

I got two hands that are clapping for you.
An outstanding song!
Very strong vocal backed by the perfect band and all mixed to perfection.
I really liked this one!

PS - don't forget to feed those goldfish!

Alan, well, 1964 was quite the year. Memorably for me, 1964 includes The Beatles first world tour and the release of A Hard Day's Night. But back then no one could have even remotely imagined that Rubber Soul would come the following year. And Revolver the next. So many seismic shifts in music that still reverberate today. If I'm stuck in the past it was a pretty good past. smile

Glad you liked it!

Mario, THANK YOU! Truthfully, the goldfish line choked me up every time I laid down the guide vocals. Yeah, I know it's stupid. But the idea of goldfish missing someone is somehow very endearing, at least to me. I blame the lyricist for any goldfish distress, real or implied. But yes, I'll make sure they get fed. And no, they don't miss anyone around here. Ha! Glad you liked it!

Noel, glad you enjoyed the tune! You had to go back a few weeks to dig this one out of the forum. THANKS for the listen!

Good driving song. Well written and a terrific performance. Love those harmonies.

I agree with all the sentiments about this song: fun, driving tune with a great hook. Vocals were awesome and, I agree with Marty, about the harmonies.

Hi Ron,

I got two compliments. For you.
One on the vocals, they are great!
And one on the song and the band! It sounds pretty good, or cool.
The sound reminds me a bit of the songs in the 60ths. I think someone else wrote that too in a post.
Everything is done very tasteful, especially the lyrics ;-)

Scott, THANKS for the listen and the input! Those RTs are a real good starting point for a good mix.

Andi, appreciate the input! Yeah, when in doubt, just add more guitars is my motto. In this case I thought it served the song better to let the lyrics and backing tracks guide the song and not interrupt with a solo. I wanted to though!!
