I have an iMac that sounds like what you have. First thing I'd recommend is upgrading to 10.6. There was NOTICEABLE speed bumps on my iMac Core 2 Duo at 2 gigahertz after I upgraded to 10.6.

Second, BinaB takes up 110+ gigs with all the RealTracks. And you WANT the RealTracks. Unless you have a HD with that much freespace, then you'd want to run it off the external HD that comes with BinaB when you purchase it.

Third, I'm not sure what exactly the memory requirements are for BinaB, but it works fine with 3 gigs of Memory. You PROBABLY want to consider upping your systems RAM. It's cheap and easy to do, and it will also speed up your computer. I imagine that BinaB probably likes lots of free memory when using RealTracks, and I could see it being an issue when you have a song that has many RealTracks going at once (though I haven't tested this).

But get the RealTracks version. It's great.
