I wouldn't call that metal.... but it's certainly hard rock. Metal is a bit different. But to someone who doesn't know the genre....and it's many subgenres.... not a bad first shot. The trick to getting this genre right is to listen closely to the chord progressions being used by the ones who create this genre of music.

I have a buddy who plays in a "sludge metal" band.... I can't hardly stand to listen to that for very long..... A lot of drop D and other strange tunings are used. The vocals are a whole different story as well.

Well, I don't use any of the strange tunings - it just sounds like the strange ones that shouldn't exist. Thanks for acknowledging the effort. I appreciate that.
