Our shopping cart calculates and applies the appropriate taxes or VAT based on your location during the checkout process. This definitely varies depending on where you are. It's worth looking into the VAT guidelines where you live so you're not surprised by these charges.

I know it can be a little confusing, as VAT is usually included in the purchase price locally. What you see listing on the purchase page is the "base price" in USD, but you'll see the shopping cart automatically adjust this to view with the VAT included. If you have a VAT ID you can apply it before completing your order to remove those charges. For me, being in British Columbia, I see these charges listed separately, as that is the "norm" based on our location.
