Hello PG Music. Merry Xmas.
Version 2024 (1102)
1. bar settings
2. mute guitar from bar 1
3. click apply
4. dialog box highlights with inner square but does not close
5. guitar is not muted

Thank you for advice, however I installed 1106 but this does not fix the problem.
I mute the guitar from bar 1 in bar settings, press apply, click the top right x out of dialog box, bar settings re appears, click ok, press play and guitar is not muted, although red line is visible at bar 1.

I tried to reproduce your actions and ran into several problems resulting in the program locking up. I am afriad I know what the fix is. cause I have been seeing a trend. Hit the return to factory settings and see if that "fixes" you problem.

A further thought: Check the folder that the song file is loading from for an audio WAV file with the same filename.
If you have ever exported the song, there may be a duplicate audio file that will load and play along with the BiaB song file. That's where the guitar might be coming from.

If there is an audio file playing, you will see movement on the Audio track in the mixer.
If you send your song to PG Music Support, Freeze it first.

Thanks mate for your advice but I returned to factory settings and it does not fix the problem. In my humble unq2ualified opinion, I think the diaglog box where you select the mute etc, should close when you click apply, but it does not, Just sits there open, however it does put the red line on the selected bar.

...In my humble unqualified opinion, I think the dialog box where you select the mute etc, should close when you click apply, but it does not, Just sits there open, however it does put the red line on the selected bar. I understand that this is by design. It is so that you can select other bars and apply changes to them also, without having to close and open every time. The fact that it adds a red line is a good indicator that the change has been applied.

Works perfectly here. Knowing that everything is applied in real time there is no need to click apply. To close I use the small cross at the top right or directly F5 again, this saves me from scrolling to the bottom. Apply closes my F5 window anyway.

Thank you very much Audio Track. I should have checked before opening my big mouth. I found a duplicate song from New Years Eve 2021. Deleted and now all is working fine. Thanks also to all the others that helped and Merry Xmas ans safe New Year to all !!

Soulagent, After you set the mute option and then close down the Bar settings, do you regenerate the song? Bar settings are not a volume control, they are instructions to tell BIAB what you want to have happen the next time the song is generated (and not simply played). On the other hand, the volume control found in Audio Edit works on existing material and does not need the the song to be regenerated. I notice that you pressed "Play". This will only regenerate the song if the song has not be generated. If play is pressed after the song has been generated, and before setting Bar Settings, then the existing unmuted generation will play (even if you've set Bar Settings). Have you tried using the "Generate and play" button after making the mute setting? Lastly...
