Totally agree, the older I get the more valuable my time is.

Otherwise I'll just take the drum track as is, put a couple of drum specific vsts on them and call it a day.
I now have a different approach. With my new Roland sampling drum pad I just play my song (in my DAW) and jam and record real-time to it on the drum pad. It's fast, fun and allows me to put more of me into it. As far as my DAW is concerned, it's just another input like by bass guitar.
