You are hearing two delays panned opposite. I just liked that effect better than other options I tried. I've always been a smooth Jazz fan, but I got into other subgenres of Jazz in the late 70s and 80s. George Benson was a major influence in that decision. Larry Carlton and Earl Klugh also influenced my pleasure with the genre.
