You can hold a MicroChord as well.

Right click on the bar you need, then choose MicroChord Settings. Then in the Set MicroChords dialog box, click the Chord Options button and then click Okay. Then choose the beat and und eth the Rest, Shots, Holds section, select the Rest type >Hold Chord from the drop down. Then click Apply. You should now see your chord with three dots after it.

I wasn't able to see how that would hold the last half beat chord over to the next bar. I could see that it would hold the last beat, but not the last half beat.
When I tried I always got the entire last beat as a held chord, even when using micro-chords. Maybe I'm missing something?
