this only seems to happen when the song has frozen tracks.
Steps to reproduce.

1. open a song file with frozen tracks

2. Select an area of the track (example bass track)

3. right click and go to Generate / freeze track from regeneration / uncheck that option

4. click on Regenerate track - bass (selected region)

exception violation box appears Program locks up and you have to go to the icon in the start menu and close window.

here is the log report.

I opened an existing SGU file with frozen tracks in RB several times and did not encounter any errors with partial regeneration with either midi or RealTracks or RealDrums.

Charlie thanks for the input, but I just tested and retested the operation. It fails every time. Unless I unfreeze all the tracks, then it works just fine.

I can't seem to duplicate this. Could you also paste in the last several lines of the flash message log?

Andrew, I don't think I can reproduce that again as I did some more testing on that file. One thing I noticed was that when I opened up the demo file some of the tracks were green and others white. The white ones would not function properly.

Okay so i just tried again on the bass track, and the wave file did not change. Then an error window popped up. Here is the message that was on the window. An exception error has occurred. You can continue to use the program, but should likely save your work and reboot program.

I/O error 103.

The problem is that it locks up and i can't save it.

Restarted the program and opened another demo it generated, and then I highlighted the first few tracks that were lettered blue and right clicked and chose make BB tracks normal tracks. these were turned some green and some white.

The three midi charts are Lettered white, but so are three of the RT tracks, RT 4455, 4456, and 4457 are all lettered white. If you slect a section and go to generate/ regenerate tracks - (none) (selected region)

Clicking on tne tracks with green lettering and clicking generate regenerate tracks - displays the RT name and info, and actually regenerated the selection.

Can you speak to why some real tracks are generating properly and other not. Some have green lettering and others white lettering.

White lettering (after converting BB tracks to normal tracks) likely means there's an issue with the generation type not automatically being set by RB in the specific situation of loading in an MGU/SGU with frozen tracks. However, for now, if you unfreeze and then regenerate a section of a frozen BB track BEFORE converting BB tracks normal tracks, then a track should be green (and not white) after converting BB tracks to a normal tracks. That's assuming you don't get the I/O error while doing that. I still haven't been able to dupe the I/O error. Will try again using different settings.
