When I render a song for uploading to Youtube.com, it does not have the red dot or ball that highlights each note as it is played. This makes it easier for a viewer to follow the song.

Currently there appears to be no way to do this in my 2020 BIAB. Hopefully it is in later versions. If not, this is something that I think would be worthwhile creating and offering.

From my lips to the programmer's ears.

I went to make a video demo for you but Biab did not want to render after trying all the codecs and it saves to AVI that is massive in size.
So it was quicker just to use Active Presenter Free to screen capture and you get the red dots:

Musocity,

The attached video was exactly what I am looking for and trying to do. However, I am pretty much a technological dummy and the thought of introducing more complexity into the mix worries me. A lot.

Is Active Presenter Free difficult to download and use to put the red dots on the melody line? Do you use a rendered song for that or is it done directly from BIAB?

Any elaboration would be appreciated.

Set the Audio to record Biab, play Biab to check level, adjust screen region to capture, Stop when done, Export to video.

Is all the above done inside the BIAB program or is it accomplished using Active Presenter Free? Confused, as usual.

However, with all the unusual instrumentation overlayed on the screen I am guessing that is the Active Presenter Free program. Right?

It looks very complicated even with the cursor flying all over the screen clicking on things.

Biab is the most complicated program on the internet, if you can use that everything else is a walk in the park.
You could update to 2024 and have the video render but it may not work for you as it did not work for me.
The program I showed you is easy to use and it's FREE

Musocity, the above is one of the best tip descriptions you have made. Great visual step-by-step instructions.

Thanks Jim. I don't mind spending time to create an easy to understand tutorial if it's going to be made use off, but when you get "no don't worry I'll just make do" or "I'll wait 10 years for PG to add it" or "I'm too scared to use AutoHotkey" then it gets a bit discouraging and you just do a quick reply or none at all.

Musocity,

I agree with you that BIAB is the most complicated program I have ever tried to use. All I am using it for is to record my songs and then adding a minimal amount of editing with styles, instruments, and tempo to make it listenable. Then, I intend to upload them so that I can direct friends, family, and people to my channel to listen to and be amazed (this is optimistic tongue-in-cheek) at what I have created. When they are there watching and listening, I want the red notes so that they will not have trouble matching the lyrics to the melody.

I have fought BIAB's complexity every step of the way to get as far as I have. BIAB seems to have fought back. So, it is from that context that I find the Active Presenter Free program extremely complicated looking. I appreciate you breaking it down even further with multiple pictures, steps, arrows, and instructions. I am going to attempt it and I find that your help is extraordinarily generous and I truly appreciate it. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

i have a gifted computer/tech guru that I use locally, and while he does not know music, he seems to grasp the concepts of BIAB quickly and has helped me immensely in the past. He surely will be necessary for me to proceed with this project.

All the best,

Natcheztoo (Jerry Krouse, Natchez, Mississippi)

You have millions of how to videos on youtube for Active Presenter.
In Active Presenter you can also have multiple videos split screen so you can have lyrics, notation and chords, and if you have video RealTracks sets you can have the actual playing also.
