Thanks, Tom. Yes, leading them into the dot game is good if the juice is worth the squeeze. The guitar requires no effort, so we thank Dave for giving the song that exta squeeze.

Thanks, Dani. There is a chess reference in the video --appropriately a bad checkmate move. Thanks for the inspiration for the low note.

Maybe some kind of nightmare were there are some people who are covered in Bear skins running around yelling and voting Republican? Maybe some skinny old 90-year-old women who are still in office with faces that look like dried up raisins pointing their little pointy fingers, and other old dried up carcasses yawning and drawling and falling asleep in their chairs?

I wouldn't know you know because I don't read the news but if that is the kind of stuff that's going on that would be really scary!!!

Good song man!
Well said, David. The News is the worse place to get the truth, but you gave me a great idea for a song. wink

Interesting story, I'm sure future generations will be pondering its meaning. Good song, good vocals, enjoyable guitar/bass playing.

HAHA!! Janne! Always love your comments. You get it even when I don't. Thanks.

Cool stuff. You can read a lot in those lyrics depending on where you stand.

That's some rowdy guitar tone.

I know what you mean, Marty.
For me and possibly most of us, the start of a new song normally starts with a fair bit of mumbling.
Re the music:
It sounds to my ears that the bass is slightly behind the beat. It may be that you accidently nudged the bass track a couple of ms in your DAW.
I've done it myself a few times. Worth checking.

The 1st minute or so of vocal seems too quiet but then I either get used to it or it lifts.
THat bass not ending is cool.
The bridge does seem to be axiomatic. The rest of the lyric sounds and looks good - leaving space for interpretation by the listener.
Dave's on fire - as usual & not his pants either.
I didn't watch the vid. as Utub wasn't playing nicely.

Cheers

Really enjoyed this tune! Those progressions are timeless, and you and Dave sound like you're having a ball. Excellent, ambiguous write and solid production throughout. Kudos on the Bb, too!

This one seems so esoteric that even I don't know what it means. Marty yo made me spit out my coffee when I read this. Lol. Boy do I love the groove on this. Excellent vocal and lyric. Your basslines were excellent. Such a cool feel. Daves guitar break was excellent as well.

“Kingdoms come and go. Sit back and watch the show.”
Indeed but we don’t wanna see ours go. Little tired of the daily show.

Janice commented that the intro reminded her of water swirling.
OK here's the broken record part: Your and Dave's performances are ace.

Great band too ... especially nice piano.

And the video was very complementary to the audio production. (yeah, spelled with an e smile )

Fun but a bit scary -- the norm of late we guess.

Marty, this one of my favorite songs now---your best lyrics!
Dave guitar, once again, spices up (chili pepper) the instrumentation.
I love that last note!

Thanks, Herb. Those lyrics can be argued from both side. hehe "Rowdy" is a great adjective for Dave's tone.

Thanks, Vic. I could tell that you would understand how those lyrics came about. Years ago I remember a well-trained drummer telling me to "stay a bit behind the beat for this one." Even after he demonstrated it, I didn't quite get how to "feel" it that way. I may have gotten carried away with this one, but the track wasn't nudged. Thanks, I'll listen more closely and fix it.

Good ear, Ray. I can't tell ya how much time I spent on increasing, then decreasing the vocal volume especailly in the beginning. I'd like to believe that you forgot the "E" at the end of your not(e) about the bass. wink "Axiomatic" is the perfect adjective for the Bridge. Sometimes I think Dave's playing is so hot that he might catch his pants on fire.

Thanks, Ron. I'm really diggin' the adjectives today. "Ambiguous" is perfect.

HAhaHA! Glad you guffawed, Scott, but sorry about the coffee loss. Thanks for everything, buddy.

Yeah, you guys are The Best In Show in so many categories, so don't change the channel. Glad you noticed the piano, Bud. There were more than a few measures where he had to be tamed, but he finally played well with others. Janice, doesn't it swirl counterclockwise in your hemisphere? Thanks, you two!!

WOW! Thank you, Scott! Dave is the not-so-secret ingredient that sweetly spices the sauce.

Sounds like a live band cut. By this I mean it has the energy of live musicians playing together, rather than a computer. I can picture this performed in a local pub. Like this chord changes and groove. Cool lyrics. Good Song !

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
