Are there any issues rerported with individual real tracks. If I place in a certain track (4656) and start playing, BIAB will just close. Does this happen with other tracks? Has anyone run into this issue? Thank you

Has anyone run into this issue? Thank you I wasn't able to reproduce this issue. I loaded RealTrack 4656 into 2 different songs, generated and they played OK. Perhaps consider downloading and re-installing RealTracks Set 432 from your account at PG Music, in case there is a corrupt or missing file.

Has anyone run into this issue? Thank you Hi Woj, I loaded the demo for _CHASE.STY, which contains RT 4656 and generated the song. I had an unusual issue about not finding HiQ Instruments which makes no sense since the style doesn't contain HiQ instruments (that I can see, at least). I've reported this to the development team. When I loaded the demo for _LUSTER.STY which also contains this RT, everything went smoothly. ---------- Just in case you are unsure what I mean by the above, to load demos songs that contain the RT... 1) Firstly, filter Stylepicker by Set 432 using the "Other" option. ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=26971&filename=Filter by RT set 2024.jpg) 2) The styles that show up in Stylepicker are now related to Set 432. 3) Click on a particular style. 4) Then click on the "+" to the right of "Demo" (#3 on the image), and load the demo song. In the case of _CHASE.STY, it comes up with two options. I chose the lower option and not the Artist Performance option. 5) Then click on Apply (#5) and Generate (#6) and close Stylepicker. When I clicked on "Apply", this gave me the message about not finding HiQ styles. I have had similar problems with version 24. When loading a song (that played perfectly under V 23), will make BB close down after pressing play and some even make BB close down when trying to just open the song file.

Hello Woj and Tonnie,
I'm experiencing the same issue and am a bit relieved to see this issue may not be install-specific after all. I contacted support yesterday with details about the same closing/crashing issue and also suspected that the issue was confined to a single song/style( _SLACKS). Backup copies of the same file restored to the working directory from an external drive misbehave in the same way (i.e.close/crash the app upon opening the song).
The problematic style in my case does not contain RT 4656. All tracks in the latest song file have been frozen and unchanged since July 2023 and replayed without issue in v2023 dozens of times over the subsequent months. Multiple frozen arrangement file versions of the same song with the same style exhibit the same problem, however, the initial =unfrozen= arrangement version with the _SLACKS style will still play without issue. If I take that unfrozen version and save it to a new filename, I can freeze the tracks, save and reopen/play the file as expected; but (wait for it), if I unfreeze the tracks and change the key to the desired key of the July version and attempt to regenerate the song, the app crashes without producing any error logs I can discover. Reopening the app, I can replay the saved frozen version of the song, unfreeze and regenerate/play it in the same key, but as soon as I change the key and regenerate the song, the app crashes.
I don't know if that info lights any bulbs or provides any clues, but I wanted to chime in that the issue may not be limited to a few users/styles.

Are you able to upload the song to somewhere and send a link?
I tried but could not create any issues with changing key for the _SLACKS demo song after saving it elsewhere.

Inkipaw, In addition to AudioTrack's comments, if you are running BIAB 2024, have you installed build 1108? You can check the build by having a look under "Help | About Band In A Box". Thanks all for the swift replies!
Yes, I had updated to 1108 before reaching out to support. That patch fixed a few other quirks I was having with both BIAB and RB but not the spontaneous song opening shut down. Just for context, please note that while I may be new to posting on the forum, I have happily used BIAB for decades, and as an IT guy with close ties to software Dev/QAT, have found the product to be remarkably stable and well supported over that time. Please keep reminding me of the basics though, as I find my blind-spots so often appear where I should have known to look...
Tonnie, Noel - the combo of non-frozen tracks, fixed _SLACKS seems to lessen the likelihood either is the underlying culprit (though maybe in backroom cahoots).
Audio, I was attempting to change the key from Bb to Am and in fact, was able to do so this morning :-/ I was able to regenerate the song, and freeze all the tracks, and save/reopen the file (despite several attempts at these very same steps prior to my original post). Given these observable inconsistencies, something more application-state-specific must be in play (though I am currently swimming in a school of crimson herring).
What remains consistently reproducible is the crashing of BIAB upon loading of the original problematic file(s). Attempting to eliminate variables, I switched my Audio from ASIO to MME, but the app still closed when attempting to load the original song files, so hopefully that test precludes driver mischief.
Unfortunately, I don't get to spend enough quality time with BIAB, so unless I find another example, hear from support that this is a known issue affecting a wider audience or can consistently reproduce the problem with a new song file created in v2024, I'll probably just cut my losses and recreate the original song from scratch. I will certainly reply back here if support provides clues or I make any solid discoveries.

'Tis music to my ears! With the 1109 patch applied, all the previously problematic files retested thus far (6) open and fully play through as they did pre v2024.
Thanks, Andrew! Kudos to you and the PG team for diligently kicking out the new features and inevitable fixes! As I did not start the thread, I shall leave it to Woj to declare it Resolved, but for me the patch solved my issue.
Back to fun!
