Hi BIAB,
On Page 1 of a song, the title, composer, tempo indication take up the the space of one of the 10 staves. If you had more of the song present, you would see that pages 2, 3, 4, etc., would have 10 staves.
Did you try setting the number of staves to 11?
You could also try setting the "Bars per line" (under "Opt", in Lead Sheet view), 5 or 6. if that scrunches up the lyrics too much, you could set a few of the less cluttered lines to 5 or 6. For example...
by adding 4,4,5,4,4,4,5,6,4,4 lines 3, 7 and 8 will have different number of bars per line while the rest of the song has 4 bars per line.
