Just installed 2024. With the new floating windows I should be able to work between two windows while keeping both open, correct? I doesn't appear to be working. I open the chords window and then the Style Picker and cannot make a selection in the chords window until I close the Style Picker.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

You have to use the new Multipicker. It will stay on top and possibly get in your way but it will allow the main window to stay active.

Only certain windows float. F7 (consisting of 9 pickers) F5 Ctr+ F8 They are listed somewhere in the 600-page help manual  New buttons toggle so for example Track view click again show Chord view. Many will toggle back to Chord View.

new MTP Library has a style picker (last tab). You can select styles and do other things while it's open. If you have a second monitor, you can drag it there too.
Easiest way to open MTP Picker is F7. Or if you prefer there is a button available in upper right menu, under "Tracks". You can also have that button added to custom buttons on upper right.

So all the windows are not "true" floating? Thanks for the help.

MTP which consists of 9 (!) previously non-floating "windows" is floating, so are a few others.
Definitely not all.

The older pickers are not floating, but then they are not needed often with the new Multipicker.
