I’ve exported a “piece in C ” in MIDI format and then imported it in Biab... but:
What has happened?
the follow:
in the original score in first and second bar there are the follow chords
first: Cma7,Am7
second Dm7,G9sus
so I expected the same in Biab
in Biab I’ve found
first bar Em7 only
second Cmaj7 only
what has happened?
Is there anybody that can help me?
Thanks

Hello,

General MIDI doesn't specify a universal way to embed chord symbols. Band-in-a-Box saves chords symbols in a PG Music specific way that can be recognized by other PG Music program, and other manufacturers probably do the same. So Band-in-a-Box is interpreting what the chords are in that MIDI file (and apparently getting it wrong...). There are settings in the File | Import Chords from MID File dialog that can be fine-tuned.

ok .. I’ve found the option ... it shows me “Chord Wizard” ... is there any flags that I may “flag” or just do I try to do some tests before to push the option “Interpret chords now” & then see what has happened?
Thanks

Hi,

It's the Chord Options on the right-hand side of that dialog that you want to try to adjust as accurately as you can. For example if it's a rock song, you might not want to allow 7th chords etc.
