Greetings,

Similar to the controls available for shots, holds, rests, etc., need this same "by instrument" control of pushes within Chord Settings dialog. Thanks!

SR

A reasonable idea, but you may already be able to do that. Freeze all of the other tracks except for the instrument you want to apply the shot/hold/rests to. Then apply the effects to the chord chart and generate. Only the unfrozen track will be affected. When you get the desired result, freeze that track too.

Yes, I've used this work-around, but time consuming. Thanks.

YES! I have wanted "push-by-instrument" for many years, and wonder why it has not been implemented yet, since a lot of commercial music in many styles depends on it, so it is a real limitation of BIAB. My workaround has always been to put in all pushes and render all tracks to DAW, then in Preferences>Arrange un-select "play pushes" and render again, so in my DAW I have a choice for any instrument at any time.

But there are many other aspects of pushing in BIAB that also need improvement, like how it cannot push correctly over a barline, and especially strumming guitars, which not only push but also slow roll or strum, which is nothing like what you want. I have a fairly automatic way of manually pushing BIAB strumming guitars correctly in my DAW by cut/pasting/dragging by an 8th or 16th, and it is so automatic that I wonder why a routine could not be built into BIAB to do this without having to re-record any realtracks.

I'm not really familiar with this feature, but my understanding is that this can be already done using Microchords:

Latest BIAB version, latest build.

Good topic on pushes rest and holds limitations. Also related to the topic of all tracks are the same which is going to take considerable overhauls.

Cerio is right in that micro cord gives you complete control at a 1/16 level in the Measure so you can build your own pushes for specific instruments. Even though tedious.

Studio One (latest version), Win 11 23H2 , i9 -10940X 3.3 GHz, 32GB Mem, a 4K 40" monitor, PreSonus Studio Live III Console as interface/controller. secondarily test on Reaper, Cakewalk, and S1 on Surface Pro 3 Win 10 (latest versions).

Yep I agree, I particularly dislike the drums hitting an accented cymbal in a push, particularly disturbing in a ballad or quiet bossa, when you want is for the harmonic change to be anticipated.
Not a Band in a Box newbie, been using it almost since it began 30+ years ago and I have also although rarely contributed to forums.
