Hello forum friends,

This is my first post of the year and my newest song.
This time too, I have prepared a live band version and a BIAB version.
The live band version was recorded at my music circle's recording session late last year.
The BIAB RealTracks version was created prior to that in order to ask a group of lyricists to write the lyrics.
However, even as the session approached, the lyrics were not completed, so I wrote them myself this time.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics

On that summer day
We met in the wind
On the street along the coast
Our eyes met and we stopped
And love started right away
Sweet sighs of love were already prepared
Without hesitation, the two of us
We allowed ourself to go with the flow

The season has passed
And I'm alone standing on the sand today too
I feel the end of our love has come
And I think about tomorrow
We can't hide our failure anymore
We were just only confused
By the full glare of the sun in midsummer

I'll go back to you today too as if nothing happened
I'm getting used to being silent beside you
And I can even hide my irritation with you
But the time has come for us to make a decision
We are almost there
Let's go back to the situation before we met
That's the only way we can choose
We should have the courage and take a step forward
We Know we can surely take the action

Shigeki Adachi,
you're a lucky guy to have professionals recording the final version of everything you do with BIAB.

This is epic, I really love everything about your song.
Really, really good work!

Hi Shigeki,

As everyone else has said, this is such a beautiful song and superbly presented. I am particularly impressed by your strings arrangement - always so lush and beautiful. Kiana's voice is wonderful.

You are truly a gifted musician.

Happy New Year,

Alan

Both versions are lush and room filling with brilliant performances.

We much enjoyed each one but the scat version is our favorite.
Why? We love scatting!
And because of that Ella Fitzgerald is one of Janice's favorite singers.

Excellent and we appreciate the amount of effort that went into creating these fine productions.

Shigeki, I appreciate you posting both versions. It is fun to compare. First, a tip of the hat for your uncomparable talent --even with the lyrics. wink So much beautiful music circles the room whichever version plays, but for some ineffable reason I prefer the tone of the Scat version. It sorta hugs the listener more warmly. Love it!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Shigeki, wow, both of these are beautifully scored, professionally performed and expertly mixed. Love Kiana's voice! I like the live band version a tiny bit more, but both are outstanding. THANKS for posting!

Shigeki, Your orchestration is second to none.
Kiana has a beautiful voice.
Everything you post raises the bar on this forum when it comes to masterfully arranging and your orchestration.
I wish that I had some of your talent.
Loved it.

PS - both versions are top shelf IMHO.

My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Hi, Shigeki.

I really appreciate you posting the working and final versions of your songs.

The BiaB version is very pretty, and well mixed. The vocals are nice, and the strings are particularly nice. The french horns make a soft backing against the vocals, and the harp glissandos are nice. The slow trills on the strings work reall well... I'll have to remember to use them myself! wink

I'm not sure I heard the oboe in the mix. The orchestral instruments fit in perfectly here.

There's much more presence of the final mix, especially the hi-hat. Of course, the vocal commands much more attention, as it should. Kiana sounds great.

Lovely! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Gorgeous arrangements and performances but the melody is the key - no translation needed as the vocal line communicates beautifully.

Cheers

Personally I prefer the sung version. It's a beautiful, well-orchestrated song. There is variation and rhythm. Well done
