I'v just updated to version 1109.
The problem: I have a song with a "X" style (I use only RealTracks). Suppose I want to try some different styles...done thousand of times before, without any problem.

Now, if I select the style "Y", or "Z" and so on, if I double-click on the name of the style, the demo song starts regularly, BUT, if I click on the box that allows to listen to my song WITH THE NEW STYLE, nothing happens, and I can just hear the song with the OLD style I chose before.

???????????

Anyone else with this problem? Any solution?. I've rebuilt the styles, of course, but no result.

Alfredo

Alfredo,
are you using previous picker to select / browse styles or a new Multipicker Library?

If you're talking about playing a style using current chord sheet, it no longer works. Hopefully will get fixed sometime in the future.

When you mention: "click on the box that allows to listen to my song", is it this menu item, or something else?

Thank you, Audio Track! This was the solution I needed!
But...the re-generating process is soooooo long! It takes several MINUTES to begin to listen to some music...My problem, or is it the same for you too?

One more thing...I think it would be better, after aditioning new styles, whenever I decide NOT to change the original style, and so clicking on "Cancel", the song could revert to the original style. Actually istead the last generated style is the one on the song.

Thanks again!

Alfredo

Alfredo,
"It takes several MINUTES".

Something is not right with your setup. 2024 version renders several times faster than 2023. They figured out how to use CPU much more efficiently.

whenever I decide NOT to change the original style, and so clicking on "Cancel", the song could revert to the original style. Actually instead the last generated style is the one on the song."

That is an issue, because even this is the case, you should be able to use UNDO, but it doesn't work as expected. I reported that yesterday.

This more or less what you should get:

Alfredo,
Lets try to narrow it down.
Are you running Real Tracks from external drive? If yes, you could try another port. Might be a random access issue.
If it is running from internal drive, did you do rebuild styles?
Try a different audio driver in BIAB: MME seems most stable, next WAS. Try both, see if there is any change.
Another way to see if it's related to driver and you are using external interface, try disconnecting it and run through your onboard sound chip (Realtek?)
Last I would try RTFS?

This has been reported previously and requested to be fixed, but so far they haven't done anything to resolve. Yes, it can be frustrating.

Before, you could actually request a simulation of the new style which would be tested on 4,8,12 or 16 measures. It's over, it's all the piece or nothing, except that he doesn't know how to go back. And that's a shame.

This option still exists in the MTP (F7) window and gives selections up to 32 bars.

Unless it's been quietly fixed in 1109, it doesn't work.

First of all, thank you so much!
The RealTracks are on an internal drive, but different from C:
Yes, I've rebuilt styles.
I'm going to try all the other options you quote and let you know.
Thanks again!

From reading MoultiPass's post and his screenshot, I interpreted his post not that the option was broken but he wasn't aware of the new location and the upgrade to adding the 32 bar option. I didn't test then but I've have since tested and in 1109, this feature doesn't work for me either.

Yes I can get it to do what you are showing, but there are at least two places in the MP styles you set this up. Both in the (Demo+) or the (Options). Depending on the combination of the settings you will hear a clean preview of the new style (no substitute) or it will substitute the new style.

An by the way I hate coming back to point this mess out.

I just tried again. Nothing I do can make this work. How are you managing it?

Here is a qulick and dirty demo. Is this waht you are trying to do??

Thanks Dan. While I loved listening to you clicking around, made me chuckle smile but forgive me if I'm wrong, it's still the demos that are playing, not the chords on the chord sheet.

Sorry, you are right. I deleted the effort. Apparently I did come back too soon. I simply can not handle all the issues with this software at this time.

Carry on. crazy

#1 Alfredo, I am sorry to intrude in your thread. I will follow you on your progress of slow render regardless sidetracked conversation. I encourage participants to start a new thread on this topic, because it's a bigger issue that I hope PGM will correct at nearest time.

Here is the culprit:

Dear Rusty,
thanks again, you're really so kind!
I think I am on the way of a solution. In fact I've noticed that the slow rendering was only in a particular song (People Get Ready), where there was plenty of pushes, and only in the style picker window. Probably so many pushes weren't so easy to manage changing style...Trying new styles with more "normal" songs has no problem.
Grazie!
Alfredo
