This is definitely one of your best. Had me from the very first note (I literally raised my head to listen more attentively, from the very first notes). Hats off to Dave Bell, too, for his absolutely superb guitar playing ... but you wrote (and perform! both from the vocal and the bass perspective) this song so well, it just stands out. The lyrics' message is so appropriate, too ... it somehow reflects what I imagine is your philosophy of life. Be that as it may, this is so well done, from all perspectives ... I wouldn't change a single thing. Standing ovation from me.

Marty and Dave...this is another quintessential and stylistic Marty and Dave production for sure and we love it!...there's no escaping Dave's chops...very cool, very tasteful and very appropriate...as DC Ron commented the lyrics could be interpreted in several different ways...I think you do a great job of letting the listener decide...and yes your songs seem to always contain an optimistic outlook on life...much appreciated by the way! you always do such a pro-level production both sonically and visually...as for me the song is pretty straight forward..."As it was in the days of Noah so it will be at the coming of the son of man." Matthew 24:37

Thank so much, Alan. Right now my wife says I'm not cleared to buy anything else for my music. The best versions are on my website, and here is the page with the newest WAV and Mp4 for this one: https://martystraub.com/BabuMusic/cakewalk/goodnight.htm

And while trying to catch up with songs on the forum, because of my break, there was your song (of course).
And you know what? I took another listen, this time on SC and I noticed I had the same two feelings as the first time on YT;
1. A very sensitive song, with a fantastic solo by Dave (a bit too loud, as Al said), and that you sing very well. So, well deserved kudos for this,
2. Je bent een religieuze kerel! Je vertelde me dat dat niet zo was, maar je kwam uit de kast (zoals wij dat noemen)... Je zang over de ark van Noach was erg overtuigend!

Well done, Marty
Hans

I smile, I laugh, and say Thanks, Hans. I like that you think it's about Noah's Ark.

Nice story with enough room for imagination, positive message anyway. Calm melody, warm arrangement and... hot Dave. Enjoyed your vocals which express strong life experience and trust.

You and Dave are “in the pocket” again, Marty!
Or as Gregg Allman said, "everything is hittin' the note."

Janice said the lyric reminded her of her Mama’s advice to all her girls to never end the day angry with their loved ones or to go away from each other angry cause you never know what will happen. 😊

Fine supportive vid and the BiaB guys are sounding great - like that acoustic guitar in there.

Keep em coming!

Thanks, Dan. My blood type is B positive, so... So that's where Hans was going with his Noah reference. I just wrote two songs about BEFORE Noah and how we were then and how we will be after the 2nd coming so to speak.

Thanks, Janne, and well said. Dave balanced the temperature perfectly. I'm grateful for the ups and downs that brought me to the pinnacle of apathy. Now I care so little for so much and so much for so little. So your comments brighten my day very much.

AH, Janice's mama gave much good advice. We have a piece of wood that says "Never go to bed angry." That RELIVE Style was probably the first that I didn't change one of the members. Thanks, Bud. Got plenty more on the way.

Hi, Marty.

Your vocals and Dave's guitar sound great here. I love the optimistic lyrics - a "we can work it out" attitude.

Nothing I can suggest that would make it better. As J&B said - just keep 'em coming! smile
