Much to do with my consternation, I heard me a song on this here forum by some guy named Alan David about the Blue Ridge and I played it for my neighbur who I call Paw Paw and then he done played it for our Mee Maw, and his mouth was all full of baccer juice and I could hardly understand a word he was saying, but he was saying something about him hating all dem fancy boy Yankee carpet bagging Florida sissy pants writing themselves some San Francisco songs and they ain't never spent one day in the Blue Ridge and might as well dress up in a petticoat, if that's all they know about Blue Ridge music, and since I've been playing me some mountain music since I weren't but 9 years old that I needed to get up there and show Alan David what time it was, before Paw Paw and Mee Maw died of the slobbering fits.
That picture is the house where I grew up in and I ain't never gonna leave it neeber.
Now this is 230 BPM so if you can't run wif the big dawgs you need to stay on the porch, or crawl under the house. But this is the way ol' Chet and Jerry and I used to play it.
I say Chet, cause that's what most people called him, but his best friends, as you know, called him Chester.

Hey, you're using the dorian mode, RIGHT?? Ha! That was a pretty wild musical hayride fer sure. I get a lot of enjoyment listening to music that's unlike anything I've heard before, so this was a treat. Everything sounds as right musically as I can figure it should. I'm still rereading your post though.
Chet performed an evening concert at my high school in about 1974. I showed up at the empty auditorium an hour early and planted myself front row center. Just him and a rotating cast of guitars. No opening act, no band. Just him and his fingers. Had to pick my jaw up off the front row floor when I left. Chet and Jerry were indeed CGPs...
Cool pic!

Hookt on fonix workt fer you it's obvious! Haha you are a hoot David! My head is still spinning from that wound up composition! You always are entertaining to listen to and I enjoyed it all! Thanks, TB
Gee David, you really can handle all styles! I had some troubled reading the words you used. At first I thought you had a beer too much, but then I remembered a scetch in a Netflix movie where they talked like that too. That little one on the left (the other must be the one talking like you showed here) is you?!? A lot of images and sentences now swirl through my head, but I think I leave them there and concetrate on your song... Even though it's not to my taste, I think it's special that you put this song together so nicely and not saying/singing a word! I noticed that one toe of mine was bobbing to the beat of the song. That was special too!
But I want to say some serious words too, along with that first sentence; I really like how you made this song so convincing. Exactly as I remember from the movie(s). I even see someone scrubbing his nails on a washboard and another diligently trying to saw that violin in half. And you on the guitar, sweating like... Well, you get the picture. Very nice!
Hey there David, are you sure we ain't related somehow? I think I was a teenager before I realized that not everbody talked thata way! This was another fun one, Chet would be proud. I wish I had me a picture of him, my dad knew him, but we never met. Another reason you're my hero!
Y'all down there in North Carolina on speed? That there sounded like a family sittin' on the porch having jam sess'n after hitting the moonshine! To bad aunt Lulu couldn't make it. She plays a mean set of jugs! But in all honesty this Yankee loved it.
OK, a random thought; Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

Chet was a really cool guy. He was and is my hero. I had stacks and stacks of albums by Chet, and also the duet albums by Chet and Jerry. I don't think anything compares with them to this day, particularly those Chet and Jerry duets, Their tone and phrasing was mind-boggling.
The fact that Rolling Stone has not ranked either one of them the greatest guitarist of all time is beyond ludicruous.
In high school, I think I listened to Led Zeppelin IV once.
Boring!!!!!!

230!! I thought only Dizzy played up there. Speakin' o' dizzy --nuf sed. This one reminds mme of my son's driving over the Blue Ridge Parkway. Finally got him to change the channel and enjoy the scenery. Now if this gem was on, we woulda pulled over to dance. Always a gas, David!!
Enjoy whatever happens! marty

Great pickin' man. No small feat at Gypsy jazz speed.
Cool pickin' mates too and a mix that sets up a great soundstage ... meaning we can visualize the band at a gig.
And for us that is the hallmark of an excellent mix.
Fun!

PS FWIW, a rhythm fiddle and rhythm mandolin would fit in nicely along with the solos -- just can't escape those BG years sometimes.
