Here is a retro song that should hopefully take you back to the 1970's disco scene... I used parts of these BiAB tracks: Bass 2613, Piano 2155, Synth 1943, Guitar 2525, Horns 2346 I programmed the drums. The vocalists are Solaria and Natalie (SynthV AI voices) I used Cubase to produce the song. Disco Fever Disco fever, disco fever Move your feet and feel the beat Flashing bright, all through the night Hearts ablaze, the disco craze, Dance, dance, dance, we’re in a trance In a trance, dance dance dance, we’re in a trance trance trance Disco fever, disco fever Satin shirt, a ra-ra skirt Sure enough you strut your stuff In the groove you make your move, Drums and bass right in your face Drums and bass, drums and bass, it’s loud in this place. Disco fever, disco fever Disco fever, disco fever Bridge Disco fever, disco fever Boogie nights, the neon lights, Afro hair, the trousers flare, Spotlights shine, a glass of wine Platform shoes is what we choose Disco fever, disco fever Disco fever, disco fever

Quite a sound you've got here Kelvin. I was already into Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard during the disco craze, but many of my friends were into it and this sure brought back memories of that. My wife would love this! I think you really nailed that old disco sound.

Kelvin, my, that DOES bring back memories. The bass and drums (nicely programmed!) really carry that disco beat quite well. The rest of the instruments fill the space nicely. The composition arrangement also hits the disco genre very well. The vocalists sound stellar, but there's something missing, maybe in the FX chain, that would help them nail that period sound. But then again, it HAS been a while...Ha!
Disco has gone in and out of fashion over the years. I rode the first wave but when the first disco tide rolled out, it never rolled back in for me. Still, fun to reflect on the way we were. THANKS for sharing!

Kevin, you really nailed that 70's disco groove. Great work with those synth voices. Super mix.
PS - I really missed the disco thing as I was into Miles, Coltrane, Wes, Canonball, and such back then. I only heard a little disco and IIRC it sounded just like your song.

Thank you very much for all the positive comments - I enjoyed making this track as the 70’s was my era for music. I’m not great at the mixing process so comments in that direction are always appreciated.

I'm too young to be a 'disco' expert, but to my untrained ears it sounds authentic. I love the guitar and how you put the instruments together. Mix isn't bad, but it's almost mono.

Hi Kelvin,
The Disco sound I know was coming from the BeeGees. Well... I heard more, but their sound I liked. Even the high falcet vocals then. The AI ladies do a very nice singing (you did a very good job on that), but like Ron said, there is something missing in the song. I think all the instruments are 'too thin' in volume and in body, the drums included. So the girls swim in thin air and weren't glued in the mix (if I may say it like this). From the start of that electric piano, I got that old fashioned 'midi-sound' feeling. Maybe you could experiment with more bass, reverb and delay in the song? And listen to Brain. Make it stereo...
All the best, Hans

Kelvin,
This is a lot of fun and I really love the way you put everything together.
The beat and the groove are very infectious and you did a great job with the vocals.
This is just a really good party song.
🙂

Kelvin,
I would say that you have very nicely captured the sound and vibe of the era. Great mix - well done!
