BRIDGE OF LOVE

Just a simple little silly love song that is a work in progress-still mixing!
Boy is interested in the girl and will do whatever it takes to win her over. I usually do songs with a spiritual emphasis in them, but this one is purely secular!
This is actually a remodel of a song I posted about 5 years ago. I re-recorded vocal parts, bass and some other parts and did some re-mixing. I am relying on the inspiration I received from my favorite artists in my early formative years of learning guitar and music in general. I am leaning on the Beatles and Beach Boys in the chorus sections and Carole King and Todd Rundgren in the verses with a dose of CCR/John Fogerty with the rhythm guitar parts especially in the choruses! John Fogerty taught me how to play guitar a couple notes at a time back in my teen years! Thanks for taking a trip back through the years with me here!

Bridge Of Love
Words and music by
Torrey Bliss ©2017 All rights reserved

It happens time and again
You keep playing the same old game with my heart
A game I can't win but I keep playing
And here you come once again
Making me feel like I'm winning this time
Then I turn around to find you're gone

I know that the day will come
When I'll capture your heart
Oh it seems like there's a valley
keeping us apart
Tell me what else can I do
I'll build a bridge of love to you

I've known you so long
And I know in my heart that this feeling won't end
And you know it too but you keep running you're running
You've got to know
That I would do anything for you
I'll never give up till I breakthrough

I know that the day will come
When I'll capture your heart
Oh it seems like there's a valley
keeping us apart
Tell me what else can I do
I'll build a bridge of love to you

I know that the day will come
When I'll capture your heart
Oh it seems like there's a valley
keeping us apart
Tell me what else can I do
I'll build a bridge of love to you

Torrey,

Wow! What a great song...

The arrangement is outstanding and so musical. Love your vocal. I don't think I have ever heard you sing in your higher register like this - simply amazing.

This should be on every streaming service.

Hey Torrey,

I really love this. A wonderful sound and yes it really does bear all of the components of those other artists that you mentioned, including Todd Rundgren.

I would love to know how you're getting that guitar sound on the electric lead cause that's the sound I would like to be able to duplicate but I don't know how.

Could you share what type of guitar that you're using, what kind of amp, and the pedals/rack mounts that you have in your effects chain to get that sound?

It's gorgeous

Such secular fun. A terrific song, Torrey. Man, your vocals are so good. You say you lean on what you've learned others, but your talent stands firmly on its own. Guitars sound perfect and the bass sits perfectly in the pocket and the mix.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Very Beatl-esque in spots, which of course, is a great thing! Great vocals and guitarin', Torrey. You're very talented to be sure.

Just a perfect song in every way. Love your vocals and playing throughout. Just needs...more HANDCLAPS! Ha! Seriously, a gem of a song.

Sounds Beatlesque to me, Torrey.
That's a good thing, too.
Unsurprisingly, the elements I like the most are exactly what's not from BIAB. I love your guitar work and your vocals are great.
And of course the handclaps smile

Hi Torrey,

Lovely song!
Nice rhythm and indeed one can hear a relation with Beatlesongs.
And -of course- very strong vocals and beatiful BG-vocals too!

Torrey...man you described this song perfectly...it's so easy to hear all of the influences you mentioned...I always hear the Beatles' influence in your style...but the chorus is so Beachboys! Torrey, the clean, crisp and clear production here is sooooo good! I think your vocals in general and your harmonies in particular are the best! you know "simple little silly love songs" are what a multi-billion dollar industry was built on...so...I'm just saying? Love your stuff my friend!

Thanks David! I used a solid body electric guitar on the neck pickup (I believe.... having trouble remembering what exactly I did....need to keep notes) just running through the Guitar Rig 5 plugin into Studio One. In GR5 I used the Eric John Son In Manhattan preset on both tracks for the twin lead harmony parts! TB

Torrey, this is a great love song, one that most of us can relate.
Outstanding guitar chops and vocal.
Really good lyrics.
This is one of if not your best to date IMHO.

Great song and arrangement all around. Has a real 60s beat sound to me. Love those guitars

Always am impressed by the high quality of your songs, performance and productions. And this one is exceptional. When it first started I thought it was Santana-ish from your guitar tone, but the clever lyrics and creative melody over those great chord changes took into a whole new direction. Very Nice Job
