Is it par for the course for a part to just drop out randomly and stay out for choruses, or did I just find my first bug in BIAB 2024? There's just piano, bass and drums. On around the second chorus or so the piano is just dropping out! Not just for a bar or two, but for chorus after chorus. I know there are settings where you can vary the second chorus etc. But a part dropping out totally??? Bossa New York Piano Trio. Please tell me what I should be looking for : First? Second? Third? A BIAB user for more than 30 years (if you can believe it) !

For some strange reason, despite compiling your total available styles in a neat compendium that you can browse through to make your style choice, BIAB fools you! Yes it actually list styles that YOU DON'T HAVE! Very strange. Now how am I to know I chose a style that I don't have? Why was it offered to me in the first place? Apparently I didn't have 'Bossa New York Piano Trio'. But BIAB didn't object when I selected it. I played it, and it sounded pretty decent. Then the dropouts started happening with the piano. Then I did a regeneration and I got the famous BIAB error notice in the bottom right hand corner. This one said: "Cannot generate RealTracks, because this folder is not found D:\Music\BIAB\RealTracks\Riano,Acoustic,Rhythm BossaNY Ev 140\. RT#1662. Check your Options-Prefs- RealTracks folder setting, and make sure that you have installed the needed RealTracks" So plugged in my BIAB install USB stick, found the style and installed it. Then being a good boy, I refreshed my compiled styles and chose the style again. This time the correct style played and there were no more piano drop-outs! It was just BIAB up to its old tricks. A BIAB user for more than 30 years (if you can believe it) !

(1) Styles (.STY files) that you do not have (in other words example.STY is not present in your Styles folder). (2) Styles containing RealTracks that you do not have. The style may be present, but you are missing some RealTracks that the style uses. #1 is indicated by "[N/A]" #2 is indicated by "[RT N/A]" Under the Other drop-down menu you can select your preferences - see attached image. The default is to NOT show you N/A styles but to show you RT N/A styles if the .STY is available. Since you've done a partial/custom install of the program you are likely to have a lot of these. Thanks Andrew for this additional information. I've made a note of it. What's interesting though for me is that: a) BIAB substituted another piano when it saw I didn't have the correct one installed. b) Decided to have this substitute piano drop out entirely after a couple of choruses, never to return again during the song's playback. A BIAB user for more than 30 years (if you can believe it) !
