It seems to have to do that I have set
Substitute Realdrums for MidiDrums -> Substitute Always ...

Good point, I had overlooked that possibility. Yes, RealBand will treat automatic RealDrums substitutions as if they are "3/5", which is the default setting. If you have this set to 1/5 in Band-in-a-Box, the only time it will NOT substitute MIDI for Real, is if the MIDI drums are WAY better for that style than the RealDrums.

Of course, there are a number of ways to solve this - one is to just add the RealDrums to your song (Right-click on the Drums track) in BB. Another is to add them manually in RealBand.

Yet another solution, which doesn't involve editing any of your songs, is to make your own custom *.ds file. This can easily be done:

1. Find the file a_pgmusic.ds in your bb folder. Make a duplicate copy of this file, and name it whatever you want (but keep the .ds file extension). For example, MySubs.ds
2. Open this file with notepad or another text editor. This file defines all the MIDI/RealDrum substitutions, and users can make their own files.
3. Search and replace all the instances of "/1" and "/2" with "/3" (minus the quotes). Save the file.
4. Close and re-open Band-in-a-Box or RealBand if they were open. (this is an important step).

This will make RealBand behave as if it is set to 1/5. If you ever want to return to the default settings, just rename the .ds file extension to something else. e.g. MySubs.unused

Here is the file, which you can unzip and copy into your bb folder.
