This the simplest of two answers ChatPG gave me: 1. Type in the drum pattern or style you want to use. 2. Choose a drum style from the available options. 3. Play the song with just the drum accompaniment. I guess I am just too dense. Please illuminate me or present other options. Help?

Noel96 Veteran Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 18,964 Australia	natcheztoo, This is how I would do what you are after. 1) Press F7 to load the Multipicker Library. 2) Click on the "Realdrums" tab and locate a set of drums that you like. 3) Load those drums. Alternatively, you could use Stylepicker to choose a style that contains the drums you like. 4) Once you have loaded the drums you want, set the number of bars for the song's length. 3) Solo the drums with the "S" button in the mixer. (4) Generate the song. There will be a C chord in bar 1 so the whole song will generate with just a C chord. With the drums soloed, though, you will only hear the drums. Regards, --Noel MY SONGS... OP natcheztoo Enthusiast N Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 99 Natchez, Mississippi 39120	Byron and Noel, The point is I have a song in which the bars are not coming out right and it is hard to work with partial bars on BIAB. So, I thought that I would play the song into BIAB, naturally, the way it feels and the way I wrote it. Then I can see how the bars work out. It may be a fool's errand, but I think I need to try. I had a previous, somewhat similar problem: I wrote a song that I really liked. It felt natural when I played it live on my keyboard. It was an AABA song with 8 bars per section - supposedly. When I got it into BIAB I found it was: A - 8 bars A - 8 bars B - 9 -bars A - 8 bars. This troubled me greatly. There seemed to be no way to force it into the "regular" pattern. So, in desperation I asked a friend who wrote songs and spent a long stint in Nashville what I could do. He said, "Nothing if the song feels right. There are no hard and fast rules in songwriting." He gave me examples of many hit songs by the Beatles and others that had odd or quirky bar structures. The current problem is compounded by the fact that the current problem song is not a complete bar off. It is half a bar (I think). So, I just want to play it into BIAB sans accompaniment the way I wrote it without being burdened by typing the chords into a normal AABA 8 bar structure. Then, I can look at it and see what or where the problem is. BTW, I may have found the easiest way to accomplish entering the melody with no accompaniment other than drums. I set the tempo, pick a style, and then mute all the instruments except the melody instrument and the drum. Voila! This seems to work in the first trial. And, if it accomplishes what I want to find out about the song, I can always "unmute" the instruments and "get on with it." I'll experiment a bit and come back. Maybe I can mark this as "RESOLVED." Soloing the bass might be another option. Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. Kawai MP6, Korg M50, Ui24R, Saffire Pro 40. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11; Win8.1: Scarletts BIAB2022 UltraPAK, Reaper, a bunch of stuff.

Record and save your song from your keyboard to a flash drive and insert that flash drive into your computer and open your midi file from BIAB. It will interpret the chords, tempo, key, and assign a default BIAB style. It can also import the melody track if there is one. BIAB Ultra Pak+ 2024:RB 2024, Latest builds: Dell Optiplex 7040 Desktop; Windows-10-64 bit, Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz CPU and 16 GB Ram Memory.
