I'm trying to change from F to C about 40 bars into this chart, but nothing I'm trying seems to show. HEP ME!

Have you tried F5 where there is an option to change to any Key at a specific bar? F to C is pretty subtle. However, I do believe this change will be seen in the Notation Window only. BIAB will not transpose the chords if that is what you are trying to do?

I've done key changes by simply using the chords in the new key. It has always worked well for me. This is one such example. Nothing fancy, just started entering the chords for the modulation https://www.soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10762744

The selection of riffs to play over our chords is based on on the specific chord notes and not on the Key? The key signature we assign appears to only effect the notation in the staff? I was always a bit suspious about this.

We don’t know the rules behind it, but we know that BIAB uses the key signature to make some decisions. A note or chord may have an odd enharmonic spelling, and that’s just what we can demonstrate. I recommend you change the key signature.

I recommend you change the key signature. But if you use the F5 to change key signature in a middle of the song it only effects the annotation, it does not change the chords. And you can not use the transposition in the GUI for only a part of the chart. I agree "we don't know the rules". which is why I have never been comfortable with doing this in BIAB.

You could be right. We just don't know whether BIAB uses a key change like it uses the original key. I use key changes under the hope that the algorithms do react to them, and I prefer the clearer notation.

one of the things I have noticed only a few times when I simply start adding the new chords is that the melody and solo tracks can tend follow the scale of the original key. This results in notes in the melody or solo that can be "out of tune" with the song in the modulated key. It doesn't seem to affect the chords themselves but it can affect the notes played by the solo instrument tracks. Not in every place, but the occasional outlier.
For me, this is not a big deal. I can either edit it out or use melodyne to shift it half a step to put it in tune with the chord and new key.
