Hey y'all...I cut my teeth on Southern Gospel music...this is another old tune from an old hard drive...I redressed it with BiaB and the Genos...it's got the old-time southern gospel feel and a train theme so it's right in my wheelhouse! I live in a mid-western town whose life blood depends on the railroads...we have a major rail-yard here and two major lines cross (the BN and the Santa Fe)...this tune was inspired by the road and The Road...so you know the drill...if you do...thanks for listening...Dan (toe tapping and/or clapping along are prohibited...so watch your step up!)Step Up!https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=5041293File:Step Up.SGU Key=Ab-A , Tempo 148 Style is _CDRIVN1.STY (Fast Drivin' w/ Fiddle) RealTracks in style: 1693:Bass, Electric, CountryDrivin8thsA-B Ev 150 RealTracks in song: ~~428:Fiddle, Rhythm Bluegrass Ev 130 RealTracks in song: 1696:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryDrivin8ths Ev 150 RealTracks in style: 1694:Fiddle, Background CountryDrivin8ths Ev 150 RealDrums in style:NashvilleEven8^6-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat Open There's baritone guitar, acoustic guitars, bass and drums from the Genos I added piano and vocals (three parts plus the lead vocal was fed through the harmonizer on the Genos)

That is nicely done. Great harmony.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Dan
This is probably the best sounding vocal work that I've heard here in the forum! The harmony work is off the charts good! Any Southern Gospel group out there would love to have this in their repertoire! If you shopped this around it would readily be played in heavy rotation on just about any good SG radio station! Beautiful work here Dan You've set the bar pretty high for the next one for sure!
Thanks, TB

Wonderful song, killer vocals (again) and nice mix! Love the arrangement with the late modulation and the twists at the end, too. Can't imagine anyone is doing this better, with or without BiaB. Another great one!

Excellent driving sound and amazing vocals, Dan. In some ways it reminded me of “The Long Black Train”. Great stuff. Vic

Sounds just like a group from back in the days called The Mid South Boys. A man after my own heart, I write Southern and Country gospel music, but not of that caliber. Man what a song!!

Not only is your vocal outstanding, as usual, but those harmonies are the best I have ever heard from hardware or software. As usual an outstanding song and mix. You are the best my friend.

Hi, Dan. What everyone else has said - fantastic vocals. Excellent write, polished redressing. But ... did the modulation go a "step up"?

Yes it did go a "step up" ...normally I only modulate a half-step at a time...I can't get anything by you! Great vocals and harmonies. And the rest ... toe-tapping magnificence.

Cutting one's teeth always seemed an odd way to say it since it's the gums that get the cuts. Anway, however you got your chops was definitely worth the cutting quality of what you produce, Dan. The train that will lead us to the other side. Tickets aren't free but money is worthless. Always so good hearing you, Dan.

We love old time Southern Gospel so this was a treat. Your combination of BiaB and Genos (whatever that might be ) are very smooth and the vocal harmonies are lovely. It’s a very good arrangement and mix also. Enjoyed it, J&B

Excellent throwback gospel done really well! Well written Vocal was perfect - key change was an effective touch. Infectious toe tapping groove, progression was interesting. I like the pause at 'step up' but it does reveal the limitation that biab has for doing those. I enjoyed it as much as possible! Absolutely well done! Mark
