Whilst I wait for the time and inspiration to write a new song, I thought I'd post the re-mastered version of another old (2020 or so) song of mine - particularly as, what with everything that's going on currently in the world, I think it's timely. It was inspired by me watching the news and seeing a ten-year-old child, amidst the rubble that is the consequence of war, crying her eyes out and saying: "what do you want me to do about all this? fix it? how? I'm just a child".

I hope you like the song, but all comments (as usual) are welcome smile P.S. Sorry, I mislaid the arrangement file, once more frown

Bring Peace Tonight (A Child's Prayer)

THE LYRICS:

Good morning, Lord ...
how are You?
Me? I feel
Broken in two.

Around me, now
My brothers fight
For the best part of
A long, long night ...

And I would like to live
And help them, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help them, you see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

***

Good day, my Lord ...
and how are You?
The time has passed
So quickly, true ...

My Mum's in shock
And so's my Dad ...
Today we've lost
All that we ever had ...

And I would like to live
And help them, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help them, you see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

***

Good evening, Lord
are You still there?
Please save me from
Such deep despair ...

... show me You care ...
... show me You care ...

For I would like to live
And help You, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help You, You see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

Bring peace tonight.
