Great little trick in the bag. Definitely a crowd pleaser
Does take some doing.
Seems like each player figures it out on their own.

Back in the day Danny Gatton showed me his technique as well as some of Lenny Breau's harmonic effects.
Back pickup on a tele is great for getting them. Joe Barden pickups do help.

Danny called them whistlers. He was one of the all time greats at it.
Check out the first 2 minutes of this video for a tour de force on the technique.
Mixed in with volume swells and artificial and natural harmonics.
Something else.

Pinch harmonics are way cool. Danny and Lenny had very different styles, but both had complete, almost mystical, mastery of the guitar. RIP, guys...
