I havent been able to get the melodies from my historical files to either play or print in the 2024 version. It hard for me to chat during support hours and support hasn't responded to my email yet. Can someone help?
The file isn't playing the melody and the lead sheet only shows the bass line.
John, I would guess your melody is on the track named Soprano. Go to the new "Tracks" window (you see the button in your picture) and slide down to see what midi content in on that track. I suspect it is there, you just need to select a synth to play it.
The Lead Sheet used to automatically open on the Melody. These days, both notation editor and the lead sheet open on Track 1 which is the Bass track. You can see this in your image. It's right at the top of the screen and next memo, 4/4, 0...
Click on the "Bass" that I've highlighted in the image and then select "Soprano" from the drop down menu that appears. (The old "Melody" track is Track 6.)
Alternatively, click on the Soprano track to select it before opening the lead sheet. Then when you open the lead sheet, The notation for that track will show.
In case it's useful information, I have my BIAB set so that the tracks do not automatically rename themselves to suit the instruments. I prefer to use BIAB original track names. If you are interested in setting your BIAB to do this, disable the two options I've highlighted below in Preferences.
If you still don't have any sound, set some baseline values from Options > MIDI / Audio Driver setup, like this:
