EDM?

I started this song with hold my beer as I am so far out of my comfort zone it isn't funny.!
EDM is a genre that I am not that familiar but I thought I would give it a try. So please those whom are familiar with EDM let me know if I am close or not to the genre.

PS - This is what happens when an old man drinks to much Geritol!
Also I know this genre is not what is usually posted here, in fact it may be the first time, and many may not like it. I just wanted to prove that BiaB is capable of generating all genres.

BiaB style - Proton High-Energy MIDI Club
Tempo - 130 BPM
I deleted the strings and guitar.
Bass - Vacuum Pro -Brute Bass RD
Piano - Synthmaster 2 - BT Melting Images
Drums - UVI Workstation - classic 808
Me via my keyboard controller:
1-Synthmaster One - ARP Multi Saw
2-Twist 2 - 052 Rewobble
3-Kontakt - Synths 11 - Abyss Collection and Grandular Library - 009 Bold Olmain
4-Kontakt - Nebulae II - Hollow Sun - Black Hole

As always all comments are welcomed.

The fitness trainer asked me, "What kind of a squat are you accustomed to doing?" I said, "Diddly."

Hello Mario. there is no age to follow different paths. Your song will be a hit at rave parties with young zombies with their ears glued to the speakers. I think it's good: your song not the zombies.

Nice to see a BIAB EDM effort.
The top-end (melody line) sounds good.
The Bottom needs help. A stronger Kick and a Much Stronger/Deeper/Sub-ier Bass. They are essential.
Keep it up! Do some more!

What Floyd said.
It's a pretty good start, but needs a lot more low-end.
I would either have the kick trigger another kick or just a low sine wave (there are free plugins for this) and either EQ the bass like there's no tomorrow or just use a different one.

I had no idea BiaB had this style.
Yeah it could use more low-end but that's easy to remedy.
I like it!

Hi, Mario.

Why would anyone complain about using different styles? Isn't that one of the selling features of the software, to allow you to explore genres?

Since I know nothing about EDM, I'll just note that enjoyed it. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Mario,

This is not a genre I'm familiar with, but what you did sounded cool.

Kudos for stepping outside of your comfort zone!

Mario, very cool! I'm the furthest thing from an EDM expert as you'll find on this forum, but I really appreciate the layers of sound you built and how they percolate across the beat. Am not a dancer, but pretty sure somebody could dance to this. I might need to find some Geritol...

EDM or not, it still has that Mario coolness. Do you do rap, too? Very hypnotic pulse, but that's all I know about EDM.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx so much Laurent. I do like to try different genres and BiaB allows me to do that.

Thanx so much Floyd for those suggestions. That is exactly the kind of information that I needed. I have only listened to a couple of EDM songs but I was not paying attention to how it was constructed. I will be attempting another EDM in the near future that utilizes your suggestions.

Thanx David. I know very little about EDM myself but I thought why not give it a try.
BiaB has allowed me to venture into genres that I have never tried before so yes I believe it is one of the biggest selling points. I believe with BiaB and a little imagination you can produce any genre.

Thanx Ron. I'm not a dancer either but I did win a dance contest. Well, I wasn't really dancing. I was totally drunk and weaved and staggered across the dance floor to get to the bar on the other side of the room wink

So Mario,

Yes it sounds like EDM to me.

But there is a price to be paid for doing this type of thing.

I want you now to get up from your computer and wander through your house shaking your groove thing like it's 1999 with full energy and full-on booty galore until you just can't party no more.

When you reach the point of total exhaustion then you will know that you have done your duty.

Man you sure are cranking out the tunes my brother!!!

smile

Thanx David!
"I want you now to get up from your computer and wander through your house shaking your groove thing like it's 1999 with full energy and full-on booty galore until you just can't party no more." I don't need to do anything like that! I can't party any more even without getting all tired and sweaty!
