Really nicely done. A song Pink Floyd could have done.

Codebreakers did some amazing and critical work during WWII. Apparently many people's work there wasn't officially recognized until 2009.
Yep, nearly 7,500 women worked there at the height, they represented about 75% of the total.
They had 3 shifts providing 24/7 coverage. And I understand the work was so grueling that some of the women collapsed under the pressure. I envision they gave them a few hours to rest/recover and then they were back at it. Then on top, you know who was responsible for the housework at home.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Thanks so much Marty.
We really owe that generation a lot, at the very least, they should inspire us.
Glad you enjoyed this one.

Fresh out of Cornell University, and joining the army as an engineering officer, quickly rising through the ranks, he was placed in charge of all of the US machine gun factories, primarily responsible for making sure that the machine guns were up to spec when people got off the boats at Normandy and stuff.

Hell of a guy. Smart as hell and friendly as hell and loved his Scotch. He also was written up in the New York Times as having invented the first financial forecast modeling calculator for manufacturing by taping together three paper slide rules, along with a short instruction manual.

Yes there will never be another generation like that. Never ever ever. My father-in-law never could understand why he could do more stuff in his head than most other people could do with a computer and a phone loaded with 50 apps.

Plus he was one of the funniest guys that I've ever met.

There's a great series on Netflix (or there used to be) called World War II in Color and you can see what that generation was like.

Mind boggling.

Thanks for this great song that celebrates this generation.

Every one of us owe them a huge debt of gratitude. We literally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.
Hey David, thanks so much for the favorable review and the amplification of the theme I tried to express.

Jack, sounded like one heck of a guy and I'm sure I would have gotten on with him quite well. I still have my high school slide rule and over my career I also worked on weapon systems.

The next time you visit him, do pass on my thoughts.

Hey Pops, I know it's been awhile but I've been busy lately. Anyway, there's this dude I recently met. They call him Bass Thumper. He can be a bit of a wack-a-doodle at times but basically he's ok. I shared a little about your contributions during the war at the gun factory and he agrees with Tom that you guys were the greatest generation ever. He also said to pass on just 5 simple words to you . . . "Thank you, job well done!"

Hi WaoBand, thanks for the listen and review.
But I must disagree about Sir Winston, he was quite necessary.

Hey fs, thanks much for the listen, glad you enjoyed it.
WWII has so many lessons for us today.

Wow, what a great tune and tribute. Just fantastic and very touching. I won't go into detail, but my Grandad fought in that war and I've always been grateful for his sacrafices. He died at the age of 92, and now a sword and a gun that he brought back with him from Germany has been left for me. When my oldest son enlisted during operation Iraqi Freedom he was assigned to the same unit portrayed in the WWll series "Band of Brothers". Several of the guys portrayed in that series later personally contacted me to express appreciation for my sons sacrifices (bronze star / purple heart). It was truly a great generation. Thanks for your efforts.

Hey Brad, glad you liked the theme and the song. Thanks for listening and the kind review.
As for your Grandad, he was a hero and part of the greatest generation; we owe them so much.

Wow very cool intro. Basslines gave the song a really cool groove. Synth was excellent as well.

Steve,
Very cool track. Wonderful groove, FX and bass playing. Mix is clear. This is one of the best tracks I've heard by you.
Interesting subject too. It's unfortunate and tragic that many people of the free world are flirting with authoritarianism. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Hi Misha, many thanks for the listen and feedback.
Glad you liked the groove and glad you agree that authoritarianism is tragic.
We have a lot to thank the folks for at Bletchley Park; they and others really stepped up when it was needed.
