Well...this song is really different for me...not the style or tempo...these I've used a lot but the subject...a sad unrequited love song...this was my first song with Hayden and Natalie (Synthesizer V) so I wanted something brand new so I started writing and you know how it goes...the song sort of wrote itself...I used a melody I had composed a couple of weeks earlier (Melody in A https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14731101) ...I wanted a trio since I write for three part harmony (mostly)...well I have a lot to learn yet about manipulating the AI voices but here we go! ...so if you do...thanks for listening and I always appreciate your comments...Dan Why Isn't Love Always Fair?https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14748157Vocals: Hayden and Natalie (Synthesizer V) RealTracks in style: 2915:Bass, Electric CountryPopByron12-key Ev 085 RealTracks in style: 1003:Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Rhythm ClassicRockPicking Ev16 065 Drums: Genos Drum Kit

Dan, this IS different, and REALLY nice! You're going to be a force with your developing Synth V skills. Lovely song, and the vocals are crisply arranged, as I would expect. Like the sparse arrangement, too. Looking forward to your next one!

Very nice indeed, Dan!
Those voices are almost perfect I think, I'm interested to read what our forum experts on AI voices will have to say, but I think you are almost there.
Nice song, very well produced as always.

Wow, this sounds excellent! Very inviting title and the whole story lives up to it. The simple arrangement is very pleasant and doesn't need anything else to highlight the message. Great folk type of melody.
And those vocals... Hayden sounds very natural, the best Hayden I've heard so far. You have made great work with him, especially in the mixing. And those harmonies are sweet to my ears, very professional quality - your vocal experience really shows. Natalie sounds bit distant, but I guess that's how you intended it.

Beautiful, especially the vocal harmonies sound really good. The sparse arrangement is perfect for this kind of song, very good choice. A little nit: listen to the word "why" at 2:26: no singer would hold this syllable THIS way for so long. Even for a real singer, this would sound artificial You have several places like this. Use several notes (melismatic singing) for these words, perhaps with some more vibrato at the end. The rest is really good and well arranged ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Dan, I don't know a thing about using AI voices - but man you seem to be making great headway with them... and you've had the production and writing down for a long time!

Yes Dan this is different for you but your excellence shines through. Super synth vocals. You know how to write three part harmony perfectly. Super backing tracks. Great mix.

Oh, yes, Dan, very differewnt for you, but I hear you in there so well. Excellent melody, and to my ears it sounds like you're doing a fine job manipulating those synths. Unrequited love maybe should be sad, but (maybe the best part is that) this one still has an uplifting feel to it. I had to give it a few spins, and on the last one I searched for that famous Simmons modulation. The song is so good, I wasn't disappointed.

It’s cool to hear the three part harmony that is one of your hallmarks and we know that must be satisfying to you to be able to continue with that.
We do agree with B.D. on the need for more “humanizing” of the lead vocal. As this is just your second project with the synth vocals, we have not doubt that you’ll have them singing like you in no time. 😊
Excellent mix!
Kudos!

Dan, this is really well done even though I prefer your vocals to AI. Speaking of which, the first use of the lead singer's word 'All' in each of the choruses sounds flat to me but the second one sounds awesome. It could be just my ear but please check it out to see if I'm missing something.

Hey Floyd...thanks for your comments...the 2:49 comment (which I appreciate) is about making the guys sound more human and even though the note is very low and no singer would choose it I suppose...I can sing that note and I thought it fits the melody...so? maybe it's just me...anyway this song is one that to use your term is a "throw away" song for me...though to be honest I may use the melody again with new lyrics to fit my musical mission statement better...thanks again...Dan
