So, recently I read a story about a famous country star throwing a chair off a Nashville bar roof top and narrowly missing two police officers, who then proceeded to take him to jail. Apparently people feel sorry for him because he was, you know, just having fun.

The whole song came in less than five minutes after this. Another thoughtless, thoughtless song.

CAUTION: This is NOT a commentary on the current Nashville scene. I repeat, this is NOT a commentary on the current Nashville scene and this is not a JOKE and this does not involve DAVID SNYDER SARCASM. No way.

A Walking Country Song
By David Snyder

https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs4/walking-country-song

V1

Throwin’ chairs off of a Nashville roof
Cause I’m drinkin’ little 100 proof
You know I’m grinning in a baseball cap
I wear it backwards cause you like it like that
Cause I ain’t classy but it’s how I roll
I’m the one they never could control

CH

Ah girl I’m gonna make it
Take every heart and break it
Just as long as they can take it, I’m stayin’ strong
Cause girl I was born a walking country song

V2

Got a mullet in my mugshot yo
I’ll post some bail and then I’ll skip parole
I’m wearing handcuffs but I’m breaking loose
Then I’m gonna love you while I’m wearing my boots
Sometimes it seems like I can do no wrong
No matter what I do they always sing along

CH

Ah girl I’m gonna make it
Take every heart and break it
Just as long as they can take it, I’m stayin’ strong
Cause girl I was born a walking country song

Bridge

Yeah I drink too much
Yeah I talk too much
But girl you’re so damn smokin’
That you’re hot to the touch

CH

Ah girl I’m gonna make it
Take every heart and break it
Just as long as they can take it, I’m stayin’ strong
Cause girl I was born a walking country song

V3

I was caught buck naked but I'm not in jail
I was caught buck naked and I'm raising hell
And I was born spoiled rotten
If you can't tell

CH

Ah girl I’m gonna make it
Take every heart and break it
Just as long as they can take it, I’m stayin’ strong
Cause girl I was born a walking country song

Outro

And I can write a hit
Write it like this
And every song sounds the same
But I’m staying strong
Cause girl I was born a walking country song
Cause girl I was born a walking country song
Cause girl I was born a walking country song

Cool tune....

Well, that particular fellow has a problem with alcohol and should really get some help. Left untreated it's downward spiral that rarely ends well. This isn't his first time.

Then again, it could be that old saying at play that "bad publicity is still publicity."

David,

This should have been a duet with Tater... smile

Love the song - some seriously good singing and production. Very clever lyrics.

Awesome all around!

David, very inspired. Great singing and playing, and the song is wryly funny but catchy. Masterful work here...

"Ah girl I’m gonna make it
Take every heart and break it"

Hi David.

This is great stuff.
Your lyrics are jam-packed with imagery and the production is jam-packed with musicianship.
As I listened, it was like a video was playing inside my head.
Kudos on the chorus, too. It's fantastic. I love the rhyme structure.
It's two enthusiastic thumbs up from me!

Thank you Herb.

I should call Jim Morrison and ask him how the full-on alcoholic lifestyle thing works out.

Oh he's dead, never mind.

David, that guy sounds like a contemporary George Jones!

A very clever and excellent song!

Thanks Bob!

Tater and I had a falling out and we are not talking this month. He keeps picking fights with all of my other personalities.

Sir, you have a hit right there!

A most clever write with video begging imagery.

You and the band are cooking on this gem.

Cool!

Hard to believe anyone can put together a song in 5 minutes but if you did you're probably a genius.
Great lyric.

ANd this ain't no serious comment, David, but this is really so good. Five minutes well spent. My all-time favprite line: "Cause girl I was born a walking country song." Born to write about pickup trucks and pickup girls, then losing them both. [Hope you noticed my double negative opening.]

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi David,

Ha, the old David is back! This is you, man!
I don't mean the 5 minutes to make this song, but the way you performed in it.
I like that!
And what's so funny; I read Marty wrote his favorite line. Well it is mine to. what a creative idea to come up with that sentence!
It's great and cool at the same time!

David Snyder.

Excellent Write. A nice job of "layin' out the facts" (and making 'em rhyme).
An absolute Killer Title line.

The arrangement is Cool. Good build.

One of your best.

fj

(and the other stuff)
It is a real shame that Morgan is still so immature. Hopefully, he will grow up before he does any real damage (to other people or his career). He's kind of a one-step-forward-two-steps-back kind of guy. So far, it's just been "being a moron" with no intentions of harm (though harm can come from not thinking).
I do believe he should serve jail time for the chair thing. Might wake him up.

I am a huge fan of the music.
The Dangerous album is one of the best records ever made. The next record (One Thing At A Time) is almost as good.
Together they are 69 songs. A body of work that FEW artist can match.
I encourage everyone to take the time to listen (sadly, I doubt many will). The productions are stunning. The writing is top notch. Original. Unique. Genre-defining-and-advancing.
If you need new ideas for production and instrumentation - there is more than you can ever even possibly hear.
Your "every song sounds the same" line is the one line the is not accurate. In those 69 songs, you will not find any 2 that sound alike. And almost every one is deserving of radio play (and almost ever one has gotten it).

Hi, Dave.

When you get an idea, you really run with it! laugh

Good and musical. Catchy and fun.

And shockingly free of sarcasm. wink

Thanks Dan!

Actually, I'm sitting here in the slammer, and they tell me the jailer's about to throw me down into the sheriff's hole.

I've been pinging people from the band in a box forum to come bail me out but no one's come for me yet.

But man, I know you like to go to church a lot so you probably have more for soft spot in your heart for me.

Can you come get me Dan? I promise I'll try and be better this time.
