Good day all....

Well....
I've never written (2) songs back to back before so I'll throw this one against the wall too.
A song about life and how we sometimes fail to grasp it and it's unknown adventures or opportunities.
You know, the "without some risk there's no reward" thing.

I'm an idiot! I forgot to post a direct link. I'm old. smile
https://soundcloud.com/chulaivet1966/time-waiits-for-no-one-ken-lasaine-on-guitars

My sincere thanks to Ken (klasaine) for his time and musicianship on this new one.
He's the best and easy to work with.

Thanks also to any that give it a spin and hope you find it worthy of your time.

***I stumbled upon this salsa track and knew it could drag something out of me eventually.
60s and 70s Pop-Brazilian. 5 insts. (piano, bass, guitar, in drums, perc. & strings. 'b' is more intense w/ Timbale figure. T=102 (M-Finger Electric Bass, M-Ac.Piano, M-NylonGuitar, M-Strings, Drums=Salsa^5-HiHatOpen

BIAB: drums, bass, piano
Ken: all guitars
Me: All the vox and I also added a conga track.

Time Waits For No One (100 bpm Key: Bm 3:21)

Intro:
Verse 1
Born alone, eyes tightly closed awaiting your first cry. When you strike out on your own, so begins your life. Every path will ebb and flow to swells of ocean waves. You’ve done your time says every line etched deeply on your face.
Chorus
Time waits for no one, there’s choices to be made. Time waits for no one, so board that ship before it sails.
Bm7 (4 bars) interlude
Verse 2
Looking back at old regrets and possibilities So easy to get lost in thought and dreamy reveries. Younger voices calling you for choices never made. Life’s a stormy marathon, can’t always play it safe
Chorus
Time waits for no one, there’s choices to be made. Time waits for no one, so board that ship before it sails.
Bridge:
Lead break: verse + chorus. Verse: Bm7 (41-56) Chorus: (57-60)
Bridge:
Verse 3
Someone told me long ago wisdom comes with age. Get used to all the highs and lows accept what can’t be changed. Without some risk there’s no reward. The nature of the game. Young or old, keep pushin’ on. Forward is the way.
Chorus
Time waits for no one. There’s choices to be made. Time waits for no one so board that ship before it sails.
Vamp to end: Bm7 (8 bars) (81-84)

Wayne, super tune! The salsa instruments are cool but the song of course strays far from salsa cliches. That's always cool. Nice vocals and killer guitar work by Ken throughout. Sounds like you're on a roll!

Howdy Ron....

Thanks very much for stopping by and giving it a listen and kind comments.
It's much appreciated.

TBH....after I posted the thread I had second thoughts.
Figuring I may be out of line or come off as too self indulgent to have (2) songs posted, but....it was too late.
I think I got too enthusiastic coming out of my 'slump'. smile
I'm sure I won't be writing (2) back to back in the future.

Thanks again.

Wayne, you had me from beat one of the first measure.
Super groove.
Great vocal and lyrics.
Super backing band.
Ken, super lead work!
Great mix.

Hi, Wayne.

Could you post the link to the song at the top of your post instead in your signature? It took me forever to figure out how to find the song.

With the complaint out of the way... I like the song - high energy! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Good morning everyone....

Mario
That's a very generous review and I thank you.
Much appreciate the kind comments.
Sorry I forgot to post a proper link.

David....I added the direct link top of page.
I'm an idiot for forgetting to post a direct link.
Old age is sneaking up on me....and I'm only 77!
Thank you for pointing out my oversight and also for taking the time to find it and give a listen.

Thanks again to you both.

Cool Latin vibe!

"Someone told me long ago wisdom comes with age."
Hmmm ... if so then I should be a LOT wiser! smile

Nice mix, band and performances.

Enjoyed the listen!

Ha....good catch.
It seems my post 'slump' enthusiasm clouded my lyrical judgement.
I think I got bamboozled out of wisdom result too.
Probably should read:
"Rumors swirling long ago that wisdom comes with age."
OR
"Have you heard the latest joke that wisdom comes with age":

On a serious note, I thank you very much for giving it a listen and the kind comments.
It's quite appreciated.

Hope all is well and have a great day.

Cool, Wayne. Yeah, that conga hit me and plastered a smile on this face. Vocals are so good. Love the drive in the song, and Ken shines brightly. Fun Latin groove. My all-time favorite album title is "Tom Wasits. For No One." So good to hear that your muse moved back in with ya.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Good morning Marty....
I thought it had a good 'drive' of that salsa style too which is not a term I would generally associate with the genre.
I will be perusing more of that genre for the next endeavor providing I don't free fall into another 'slump'. smile
Thanks very much for checking it our ant the generous comments.

Howdy Blue....
I liked that style too which not one that I've employed in the past.
This BIAB program is a very cool tool for us song writers and I'd have several songs in my "unfinished" folder without it.
Thanks very much for taking the time to give a listen and kind comments.

Have a great everyone!

Hi Wayne,

A lovely song! I like that Latin fibe and your vocals shine in it!
The topic in the lyrics is handling 'getting older' too: "Time waits for no one, there’s choices to be made"
I enjoyed it a lot!

Howyd Birch....

Your too kind.

I thank you for stopping by and taking the time to give it a spin.
Yeah....I really dig that salsa/latin vibe too.
This is my first with that BIAB style but I'll be looking for more of the same for my next one.
Primarily, to get out of my comfort zone, so to speak. smile

Thanks again and hope all is well.

Hi Wayne.

This is fantastic listening. I love the salsa groove.
Ken has also worked with it very, very well and has captured the flavour of Brazil in his vocals superbly.
"So board that ship before it sails"... I love this line! It's a command. It's a metaphor, and it's perfectly placed in the powerhouse position of the last line of the chorus.
Because I'm old, I could look at these lyrics from a hindsight perspective and see the truth in them.
I have no doubt that that coloured my thinking but it did not diminish the power of your words. If anything, I suspect it probably made your words more acute.

I really enjoyed this music journey!

This is a cool salsa that gets my feet moving.
The mix is a bit flat and almost mono, but the song itself is pretty good.
Like it!

Good morning everyone.

Noel96....
Ha...well, regarding the 'hindisight' comment, I'm old too and it was written from that perspective.
I sincerely appreciate your thorough take on it.

Peter....
Yeah, I feel quite fortunate the Ken thinks highly enough of my efforts to collaborate with me on them.

B.D....
I dig the 'salsa' style too. smile
Thanks for giving a listen and chiming in.
Sounds fine on our systems but it's always good to hear other listeners perspectives
Should I revisit it, I'll consider your comment.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen and comment.
Much appreciated.

Have a great day all.
