Stunning production.

I love the sound of that opening flute, which serves as a precursor for such a lovely tune.

Once again, the synth voices are magnificent. I would think the voice is real if I didn't know.

David,

An absolutely beautiful production. The write, mix and vocals are stunning.

"Afternoon in late July
I'm falling
Hidden in tall green river grass
Underneath the endless lazy sky
Plovers circle boats as they pass by"

You had me from the opening...

Hi David,

To start with the song itself: Great!
Very good vocals. Oscar's vocals are very pleasant to listen to, and the BG-vocals too
A nice melody and use of instruments. Lovely lyrics.

But the thing that amazed me a lot was that ton of work you had to do to create all this!
And I read you are able to automize some processes. That's great.
I think I once told you that I wanted to do a duet with an AI voice.
I bought some vocals from Emvoice, but, beside a simple vocal melody, I couldn't manage to get me that duet.
That's why I still use humans...

But what you can do is very, very good!

Hans

Thanks! The BiaB cello and strings do most of the heavy lifting here.

I had remembered a comment Nelson Riddle had made in his orchestration book about how flutes add a lovely silvery sheen to french horns... And yes, they do. smile

I was impressed by Hayden - the software is getting better and better.

Well, I was heavily influenced by Lewis Caroll's "All in the golden afternoon..." as well as "A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky". It's hard to go wrong with that as an inspiration. smile

Thanks!

By "automate", I mean that I can draw in the volume changes, instead of having to manually move the sliders as the song plays. It's a lot easier that way.

Humans are always the best choice... if you can get them!

The nice thing about AI voices is that you can get a high level of control over the vocal... if you want it.

Ironically, that's just the opposite of what programs like Udio offer. Instead of control, you just give your lyrics to the program and hope for the best... Not for me.

The lyric itself is a beautiful poem and the first verse’s imagery is lovely.

This is both epic and pure and simple at the same time (if that makes sense).
Everything is smooth and uncomplicated sounding and yet powerful and so full of emotion.
The horns and strings are perfect. It's wrapped in a fine mix.
Amazing what you did to get there!

You know your vocalists so well and always get the best performances out of them.
Most impressive.

Enjoyed it!

Well, it borrows from poems by Lewis Carrol (Charles Dodgson), so I can't take full credit here.

Although... The BiaB high strings and cello made this version a lot easier, since they did much of the work wink

Nicely poetic story with a changing season and falling castles in the air - my favorite subjects wink
Such gentle and beautiful melody and chord progression. The simple arrangement highlights those elements, that is, your songwriting skills. Excellent tune for a musical, I hope you'll be hired to compose music for one smile
Vocals sound great, nice harmonies.

David,

You've outdone yourself with this production. Masterful use of the vocaloids, but the arrangement as a whole is a star. Has a very Broadway stage feel to me--the show-stopper kind. Soothing and tranquil, but emotional and compelling. Wonderful write to boot. Excellent stuff! Liked it!

My very best to you,

Deej

All the hard work you put into this song really paid off. It's an excellent production all around. A truly beautiful song!
