It's the English version of "le baron du funk" sung by Solaria et Kevin. The iconography has been changed.

Laurent,

A lot of interesting things happening in this. Showing off a lot of different BIAB that aren't used here as often.
The change at about 2:45 is cool. Have not heard "the voices" do those type vocalizations before....
Nice mellow guitar solo.
Mix is good.

Funky --and anything but barren --oh, baron. Really good work on the vocals. Love the harmony. I love the part where the music slow downs, and it really gives the vocal a wonderful space to soar. Outstanding guiar solo. Such a good write, Laurent, and a terrific production. There is so much in there to enjoy.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Very creative, and sounds GREAT! Your vocalists sound wonderful, too. Opportunity for improvement on the vocal phrasing/pronunciations perhaps. Another nice one!

Very 70s. Really liked the video, too.

Stellar work with the vocals and the entire audio/video production.
The entire band sounds great and that is a nice guitar solo.

Good 70's funk indeed. We used to listen to a lot of it back in those days and this would fit right in with some of the best.

Well done!

Wow really cool 70s funky groove. Sounds like a night at Studio 54. You Synth V work is awesome, is that really Solaria vocalizing over the slow parts? How did you get her to sound so soulful? To me it feels like 2 separate songs the faster funky and slow groove soulful ending. Great guitar tones by the way.
Nice

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Funk at its absolute best followed by some outstanding R&B/Soul. Absolutely brilliant.
Outstanding use of those synth voices.
Great mix.
Super instrumentation.
Great video.

Hey Laurent,
This certainly took some skill to assemble. I found the synth vocals in the up-tempo section to have that typical robo articulation and wouldn't have understood them had they not been printed. I think it rushes on the last syllable and compromises the musicality. Maybe in future revs of that software this will be improved. However, I found the down-tempo vocals to be soulful and superb.

But I'm mainly interested in the instruments used. Did you play any or are they all BiaB? The instruments are great.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Thanks Bass Thumper, the positive reviews make progress. I have to take on 2 challenges: write songs in English and make them sing by the synthesizer V. I tried to sing them myself but when I analyze the audio spectrum, there are too many out of tune and the tremolo is poor. Also even if there are imperfections and more work, I prefer to continue with the voice synthesizers while trying to improve.

The voice is a recut realtrack. For the guitar I used the amplitube5 plugin and I wrote the solo before playing it on the guitar.
For the tempo change I used the Cubase tempo track to take it down in a few measures from 110 to 90 at the junction between the 2 parts.

Hi Laurent.

Wow!!! This is spectacular. You've done a great job with Natalie and Kevin. Moreover, the composition and its arrangement are sublime. You have taken BIAB places that are way outside my imagination, and you have done a superb job.

In every way, this music glistens with all the competence of an expert musician.

I loved listening, and I loved how it all sat so comfortably on my ears.

All the best,
--Noel

P.S. Now I'm going back to watch the video!

Thank you Noel for the comments.
I am only a modest amateur who uses the enormous possibilities of Band in a Box. Having the possibility of professional musicians working for you and now with the V synthesizer to have good singers, I would never have imagined that when I started music. I'm like a child with fabulous toys.

Really cool Laurent!

Excellent groove funky brother!

As we say in Paris, and I believe this is a famous French expression, get on down to the spaceship mother with your funky bad self!!!

Also thank you for not designing your YouTube cover as clickbait.

A lot of people do that on purpose but I'm very impressed that you resisted the temptation and just went with something very conservative. A lot of people in your shoes would what have done something provocative and sexy just to get someone to click on the song but you didn't do that and I think that shows a lot of taste on your part.

Very French!!

The images had to serve the few words and the spirit of the music as I conceived it. If we try to make clicks unfortunately we often flatter people's baser instincts but then: is this the kind of society we want to live in?
