Here is another moody song, with chorus harmony by Jan Hauenstein. https://fredgrittner.bandcamp.com/track/everything-to-wish-forEverything to Wish For I was taught To be judicious I got suspicious Went my own way If I were rich So ambitious That’s fictitious One more someday CHORUS Between twilight and midnight There’s a wide-open door With nothing left to say And everything to wish for Everything to wish for What’s gone down Has left me reeling A heartsick feeling A shocking day Don’t expect I’ll feel better If I let her Have her own way CHORUS I gave chase Tilting windmills Building molehills From tears and sand Can’t say why I’m optimistic Am I simplistic On where things stand CHORUS

Good write, Fred. I like the low harmony. Excellent choice. A good soft sound unobstruced by ostentatious clamoring of ego-maniac musicians. Still, I miss them, but they have no place in this beautiful thought-provoking song. Well done.

Fred, a lovely, poignant song. Many good lines, but I particularly liked the "building molehills" passage. You're vocals deliver with a delicate touch that's nice to hear. Excellent arrangement and mix, too. Just great.

Really nice gentle song and vocals. You have a very young-sounding voice

Hi, Fred. Love your use of language in the lyrics. Pleasant to listen to, folk with a touch of melancholy. Really nice.

You set up a rhyming scheme in V1 that was interesting if a little tortured in execution, (judicious). I missed that in the subsequent verses. What are the BIAB components? Nice, gentle rolling song.

A really nice, soulful song!!! A very ambitious rhyme scheme which you handled without a touch of rhymitis. Some really nice lyrics throughout!!! GREAT job!!! Take care. Greg

"I was taught To be judicious I got suspicious Went my own way If I were rich So ambitious That’s fictitious One more someday"
Nice lyric and cool rhymes indeed.
As Peter said, "Pretty, gentle song, nicely sung" That well sums it all up.
Enjoyed it!
