Since the problem appears to be related to the splash screen, you can skip it entirely by doing the following: 1. open your Preferences folder (eg C:\bb\Preferences) 2. create a blank text file called NoSplashScreen.txt I wonder if there's a published list of these 'Easter Egg' blank text files?
