I seem to remember posts on this issue. what i want to do is audition different styles on an existing song and then return to the song with the original style unchanged. is it possible? i find that when i return the song has loaded the style i auditioned and not the reverted to the original.
i can always load the saved song as long as i make sure i've saved any other change before auditioning styles. the process seems different in 2024 - the stylepicker used to offer the choice of the demo or the chords of the song.
also if my song is 140 bpm and the auditioned style is 150 - working from memory the song tempo changes - i think bt can't remember exactly.
even after nearly thirty years of BIAB as I do my main work in RB my basic knowledge of BIAB is a bit shaky
so simply, how do i audition different styles, choose demo or chords for the song and then revert to the song with the orignal style and tempo unchanged? help please!
Regardless of the answer you get here I would never trust BIAB to reliably return my song to it's original state! SAVE the moment you get something you wish to keep!!!
This is one of the many new features for 2024. Is it good? Is this bad? In any case you can't do what you describe: if you audition other styles on your piece with the double click option, it's lost. We talked about it a lot in December 23. So your memory is good but it's Biab who changed.
One way to get this would be to save the song (F2) at any time you want a snapshot of the current song. Then you can revert by re-loading the saved song. There is also auto-saving going on,so you could revert to a previous version if you forgot to save it.
"This is one of the many new features for 2024. Is it good? Is this bad?" It's amazing, but I guess it needs some kind of mechanism to make it fully reversible for those who either forget to save project or purposely want to go back. Strong "Undo", or optional auto-save previous variant potentially can solve this.
If you create a search similar to the 'Search familiar song' feature, the StylePicker can retain and place the current loaded Style at the top position of the StylePicker results by using the Set as Prototype option from the StylePicker or the 'Search for similar styles' from the main Chord Sheet. This works in both the regular StylePicker and the MultiPicker. . This search option will return similar styles to the filters of the loaded style and will keep the loaded style in the top position as long as the search filters remain the same.
