Thanks for the listen Laurent.
Viktor and everyone else that went thru the holocaust are well deserving of a tribute.
Consider reading his book if you haven't; it's not only educational on multiple levels but a fascinating and tragic glimpse into a world that we know little of.

BassThumper:

Wow, after reading the background of the song above, the intro is haunting and terrifying--totally sets the stage for what follows. It's a myriad of emotion that follows that opening, and each of them resonate. The mix and arrangement are excellent. You've outdone yourself on this one!!

My humble regards,

Deej

Hi BT Steve,

You made a very impressive song, from a very dark era.
Hearing the sound of that train, followed by the barking of the German shepherds and the screams of people, gives you some chills.
You make a beautiful piece of music, with that choice of instruments. Really very good!
You made a very impressive song, from a very dark era.

Hearing the sound of that train, followed by the barking of the German shepherds and the screams of people, gives you chills.
You create a beautiful piece of music, with all those -sometimes- modern instruments. Really very good!

The darkest part, however, is that humanity never seems to learn from its history... So we need many more Victors to teach us life lessons. Maybe a lot...

Thanks,
Hans

Hey Brain, I appreciate your listen and always your insightful reviews.
You bet, Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands, I like nearly all their stuff and I can't help but think that their style creeps into my work as an influence.

Wow Mario!
To the degree that this might be a personal "masterpiece" is in large part due to folks like you who I consider mentors; folks who helped kick-start my musical journey back in 2020 with BiaB. Folks who produce creative works that make me say "Hmmm, I wonder if with a ton of effort that I too might be able to produce something that might speak to others." I guess this is called inspiration.

Viktor Frankl has also inspired (and will inspire) millions around the globe, not only in his generation, but mine and I'm sure generations to come.

Everything flowed seamlessly from section to section. It was an outstanding arrangement.
I really enjoyed going where you took me..

Hey Noel, I really appreciate the detailed review.
"Section by section" is exactly how my brain works but the funny thing (for me) is that after I begin arranging a song it seems to have a life of its own and in a way I'm led down a path.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully mankind has learned something about itself from that time, but sometimes I wonder.

Hey Marty, so far it's looking like 3 of us have read the book.
I much appreciate the comment on my bass playing. With much hard work and hundreds of hours of listening intently to all manner of bass lines, I think I'm slowly grasping the fundamentals. But I always have some amount of internal tension between playing too sparsely and over playing.

And who else but you could articulate "There is majesty within the sorrow, spiritual within the oppression." That is such a poetic summary of his book.

Many thanks.

Yeah, the Roland drum pad is turning out to be a great musical instrument investment, it's really a blast figuring out how I can complement the BiaB drummers.

B.D. expressed our first thoughts, "There are quite a few Pink Floyd influences, which is a good thing." Indeed.
Both of our fathers served in WWII and we have read a LOT of WWII history and watched multiple documentaries over the years.
Including of course many on the subject of your song.
Every aspect of the production, e.g., sound effects, voices, track choices and more render a tremendous tribute to those who lived thorough it, those who survived and the families of them all.

Well done in an epic manner!

Howdy BT....

That is quite a profound account by Viktor.
You've put together a very somber, pensive composition here and it fits the song image perfectly.
Tough subject to take on as it wreaks with such deep emotion.
War is truly a hellish experience of the human condition but the holocaust is on a level all it's own.
Heartbreaking is an understatement and words just seem inadequate to describe the horrors

Well done!

Hey chulaivet, every time I see the word "pensive" I have to look it up, I just can't keep that word in my head for some reason crazy
The holocaust certainly is on a level all its own. And Viktor is not only victorious but a hero for writing a book we all can learn from; what a legacy he has.
