Chris Spruit is back with us for this one, she wrote the lyrics, did the vocals, and plays piano. Lately we have been mostly focused on producing videos because we get way more listens on YouTube than any of the streaming platforms, but for those that prefer just audio there is an audio only link at the end of this post. I used Copilot to produce the images for the video, fun stuff! The Band:RealDrums: BossaBrushesFull^1-a:Sidestick, Brushes , b:Sidestick, Ride RealTracks in song: ~686:Organ, B3, Background Pop Ev 120 (during the solo only) Chris Spruit: Piano and vocals Marty Straub (BabuMusic): Bass guitar I'm playing the lead and rhythm guitars. Mixed in Reaper with plugins from Izotope and Waves, mastered with Ozone11. Dave, Chris & Marty,
Wow! A new favorite!
Chris sounds excellent with a perfect slow-burn vocal and some great piano lines. Love the arrangement and the mix as well. You and Marty sound great together. I really like your guitar parts here - I am getting some Santana vibes.
Awesome stuff!

Nice! Beautifully melodic, with more than a hint of Latin. Dave is a marvel on the lead guitar, Marty is unobtrusively but flawlessly playing the bass, and Chris is expressive and communicative in her solo. Well arranged, well written, well performed, VERY well produced, and (not least) a good video. Love that this song is, once more, melodic, and tells a clear story well. Good job - and I agree with Bob about the Santana vibes, of course.

Y'all are a Killer band.
Chris write Rock songs like a Pro. Not such an easy thing to do. (Welcome back!!)
I love it when Dave gets-his-carlos-on. Smokin'
And Mr. I've-Got-The-Bottom never disappoints.
In my speakers - bass could use a dB, vocal could lose one.
Y'all should have a deal.

Dave, man, this is a GREAT song, and SO well performed. "Killer" is probably overused, but...this is absolutely a KILLER tune. You, Chris and Marty sound pro level for sure. That guitar tone is smoking. Did I say "killer" already? Never mind...LOVE this song!

Smooth.... Yep. If you know, you know.
Indeed this is oozing with Santana vibes. Nice work.
That's one smoking guitar. Nice vocal work.

Dave, Chris, and Marty, you outdid yourselves on this one. Loved that Santana groove. Outstanding vocal and lyrics. The perfect bass and guitar parts. Very profession mix. This one should be on the radio today.

Hi, Dave. That's a hot mix - but it fits the style. As usual, everyone's in top form, so it sounds great!

Brilliant song all around! I agree re YouTube views. I don't expect to get many on anything, but I barely get any responses on other platforms.

Ooooo, what a serpentine feel in the music. Good song, and the high points are Chris' vocal and that guitar solo.

fj Thanks for that, Floyd! As far as the mix goes I always revisit before uploading to Spotify and iTunes, which I'll do in a month or so, and find after not listening to the song for a few weeks I'll often hear things I missed the first time around. I've made note of your comments in the song folder and will certainly check both of those things, thanks for the feedback! Great song!! Kind of has a Jefferson Airplane sort of vibe to me.
Really good!
All of the elements are tight. You folk and make a great band. Not hearing Airplane myself, but I'll take it! I wore the grooves off their Surrealistic Pillow album back in the day. Thanks, David!

Glad to hear Chris again, not just her excellent vocal performance, but also the sweet sounding piano playing.
I enjoyed the bossa rhythm and the perfectly fitting chord progression. Excellent guitar and bass work. Melancholy in a pleasant mix.
Dave, Chris, Marty and blues - 4 aces, the perfect set of cards in the musical pack.

Man, it is such a rewarding and enlightning experience listening to Dave & Chris work out these songs. Best fly-on-the-wall experience ever. Dave, this is such a terrific mix. Chris's vocal is so good to begin with, and then you bring it out so well. Yeah, you know I love your guitar work. Thanks for the invite, and thanks to all who liked what I added. Although I really can't imagine anyone listening to the bass with all that good stuff going on.
