You have to go through the checkout process. The code gets entered about the 3rd screen (at the top) - before you actually click the final "buy"

Could be because it is a Newsletter offer. The newsletter contains a button. Could be that somehow affects the discount.
You might try signing up for the newsletter and see if they send you the current one...
