So, this is an older song of mine, which I decided to re-do now that I have better tools. In the first verse I have nothing but classical guitar right and left and vocals. Then I slowly start lying in the other stuff, but keeping it all compact and subdued with very careful instrument choices.

Hope you enjoy it.

LOVE AT LAST

David Snyder

V1

I hope you’ll always know that
dreams can last forever
Cause I've been waiting all my life for
us to be together

You make me sing
Amazing Grace
And you let me know that God
Is in this place

And heaven
has finally made its case
and heaven
has finally made its case

CH

And love, at last I see your face
And love, at last I see your face
And love, at last I see your face
Your face

V2

So I hope you'll always know that
I will feel this way forever
Cause I have seen the other world and
I know your world is better

You make me sing
Amazing Grace
And you let me know that God
Is in this place

And heaven
I have felt your soft embrace
And heaven
I have felt your soft embrace

CH

And love, at last I see your face
And love, at last I see your face
And love, at last I see your face
Your face

Intro sounds a little like Tears in Heaven.

Excellent job on the guitars, David! Great tone and technique. And this has to be one of the best vocals I've heard from you.

Nice arrangement, nice mix, but most importantly, great song.

Loved it!

David, so many good things to say here, but LOVE your arrangement and the steady dynamic build. And the lingering guitar note at the end is very cool. Also, everything just SOUNDS great. Super song content and really strong vocals are what makes this work though. Very nice!! *Edit* Almost forgot to say your guitar work is really clean, musical and fun to listen to.

What a wonderfully creative build, and I really like this song a lot, David. Yep. Listened 3 times now to be sure, but this is now my all-time favorite David Snyder song.

"And heaven
has finally made its case"

Nuff said.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hey Thanks Dave!

Yeah I can't tell you how many times I listened to those side by side.

smile

The picking pattern (and notes) are different and the melody of the first part of verse 1 is completely different in both notes and phrasing, and once you get to Part II of the verse structure it is totally different, chords and everything. It also has 2 Pre-Choruses, kind of, or a 3-part structure in the verses anyway,

And the CH is totally different.

Glad you liked it man!!! And I will take a "sounds like Eric Clapton" any day! Thank you!

Hey thanks Bob!

Appreciate that man!

Yeah I've been getting more and more into the classical guitar as a main instrument now, as I'm beginning to enjoy the piano more and more as well.

It's also beginning to occur to me that vocals are something that you have to spend a lot more time on then you would think!!

David, IMHO this is your best to date.
Super vocal and lyrics
Loved the intro and how you brought in the other instruments.
You have raised the bar with this one.

David,

It's a wonderful write and terrific arrangement. In that regard, I like the build . . . starting simple and just adding along the way, which adds so much gravity to the tune as it moves on. From a production standpoint, I think the vocal is a bit too far out in front . . . I'd like it just a bit softer. Though that's an artistic preference . . . as always, go with what feels right to you.

First thought: Bob Dylan, but a better singing voice smile

The song is superb.

I agree with Deej ... the voice could be just a TAD less forward, softer, somehow. But who cares ... it's a superb song, superbly done. Every time I listen to a song of yours, I'm guaranteed originality and sincerity, at the very least. Then, of course, great expertise in how to actually craft a song - but that comes after, for me smile Anyway, long story short: BRAVO. WELL DONE. Hats off to you, sir.

Hey thanks DC. Appreciate that brother.

Yes I love playing that classical guitar for sure it's just a very enjoyable experience, and it kind of makes everything flow if you start writing a song while you're playing.

I'm kind of bonded with that old guitar!
🙂
Thanks for the listen my friend and all the kind words!

The opening with your classical guitar is lovely.

The build sounds good as does the entire mix.

Great SOULFUL vocal.

The sentimental fool Janice loves the lyric!

Man, what a redo … love it.

Another "bigger than the universe" song by DS and what a delight it is. Classic. Not just because of the classical guitar, but the whole build-up is heavenly from the piano to the strings. And the lyrics keep in the subject all the time with a magnifying beauty. Very heartfelt vocals and the guitar playing is superb.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
