I used Reason 11 for this instrumental piece, which was written around a "bossa nova" influenced acoustic guitar part with 3 chords. I inputted the chords into BiaB - tried everything with a "latin" or "rock" flavor on bass and drums, to no avail, as the rhythmic motif I had on the main guitar part was rather specific. So, I chose the different drum loops from Reason's studio drummer, and played the percussion manually on a keyboard. The bass, electric guitars, and organ were all played manually by yours truly. Hey there Randy. I like your melody, and it has a cool Santana vibe to it. I'm no mixing genius, so take my comments with a grain of salt and listen to what others may have to say. To me I thought the lead guitar could come a little more up front and the bass was overpowering to my ears. I often don't use enough reverb in my mixes, but I think this one would sound a bit better if you were able to back off the reverb over the entire production quite a bit. Just my two cents, but there's a lot of great producers on the formum who know a lot more than I do, so they may make a lot more useful suggestions. I do think you've got a good one to work with here.

Hi, Randy! I agree with Brad that this tune has great bones. Love the guitar tone. The reverb on the bass and drums is a bit much to my ears.
Am surprised you couldn't find anything that was "close enough" in BiaB, as there are a ton of Santana-compatible RealStyles. One neat trick is to enter the song title of a similar popular song into Style Picker and let it make suggestions. Works more often than not.

Thank you both for giving me mix suggestions - I'm going to incorporate those changes.
And, I did not realize that I could search BiaB for artist names (like Santana). I was searching for "Bossa Nova" and "latin", after inputting my chord changes and gave up after a few hours of auditioning.
